And even though that occurred. And even though it was the National Title Game to decide who should be that National Champion of Division One College Football.
This is how my rankings go:

1.
Utah (13-0)
2.
USC (12-1)
3.
Florida (13-1)
4.
Texas (12-1)
5.
Oklahoma (12-2)

The rest of the rankings needn't apply.

Yes, Florida would drop a spot for winning the National Title Game this year, but you also have to take other events into account.

Like how No. 6 Utah upset No. 4 Alabama who had been ranked number one for the last 5 weeks until they lost to Florida in the SEC Title game (which they were beating Florida for a majority of the game too).

Anyways, Utah put away Alabama early with a quick 21-0 lead, and then just pounded the game away 31-17. The Utah Utes were the only team in college football to finish undefeated thanks to TCU upsetting previously unbeaten Boise State (and Utah beat TCU also). The key argument I have is that they were undefeated. NO ONE BEAT THEM! USC lost to Oregon State (and Utah beat Oregon State too the next week), Florida lost to Ole Miss and barely scraped by Alabama who lost to Utah in the Sugar Bowl.

Texas lost to Texas Tech, and even though they beat Oklahoma, for some reason Oklahoma got to play in the National Title game over Texas.
Oklahoma losing to Florida has no excuses, but Utah didn't lose to anybody, and proved themselves against a legit team by pounding them in a BCS Bowl Game!

Now why I put USC ahead of Florida? Because USC got a bunch of crap for losing to "bad" Oregon State team. Well...that Oregon State team was only one win away from the Rose Bowl until they lost 65-38 in the Civil War to my Oregon Ducks.

Everyone said the Pac-10 sucked. And I can't blame them after we went 1-6 on the year against the Mountain West Conference, but we redeemed ourselves when we won the Bowl Season as the only conference not to lose a single bowl game. So that officially makes the Pac-10 the best conference in the nation.

Therefore USC should be ahead of Florida. And if they went undefeated, I'd put them ahead of Utah, but no one beat Utah, so we can't say that.

As for Texas, they had a chance to leap Florida when they got to play in the Fiesta Bowl, but when they barely beat the Ohio State Buckeyes, they didn't prove themselves worthy enough for a National Title. Sorry Texas, but you guys got screwed.

That is my analysis. Yes I love College Football. It is my love and passion, and I will be a College Football analyst one day. Remember my name: Nicholas Andrew Carlson.
