Golfers to Watch

Tiger Woods tees off on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. with Lee Westwood and rookie Miguel Angel Carballo after Ian Poulter withdrew due to illness. This is the first time Tiger is playing the Honda Classic since 1993.

Westwood is a tremendous player, so it should bring out the best in Tiger. Considering his mind is heavy at the moment with the new Hank Haney book coming out, Tiger could be distracted this weekend.

Just take a look at how he handled this press conference on Feb. 29.

Golf fans should always keep an eye on Tiger, but this weekend he definitely needs to be watched, especially given the recent news surrounding him and his poor putting in his last few outings.

Another golfer to watch is defending champ Rory Sabbatini, who won last year's event by one shot. He had a solid lead, but poor play almost cost him the victory.

There hasn't been a repeat winner at the Honda Classic since Jack Nicklaus did it in 1977 and 1978.

Sabbitini tees off at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday with 2007 Honda Classic winner Mark Wilson and Camilo Villegas.
