Roy Oswalt and the 5 Most Screwed-over Free Agents Ever

0 of 5

Each year in every sport there are lots of big names that are up for free agency. Some big names some no names, and every once in a while some of the big names get screwed.

Whether it is because there are so much skill available that they just get lost in the name or if they just get stuck in a situation where there is no way they win a championship or succeed.

Roy Oswalt

Roy Oswalt is one of the most recent free agents that has been screwed during baseballs offseason this year. With plenty of other big names and skill that was getting shuffled around like Yu Darvish, Prince Fielder, and Albert Pujols, Oswalt was lost.

As teams are scooping all the major players up it is only now that Oswalt is drawing some attention. But it is looking like it might be to little to late, as he may not join a team till midseason.

Steve Nash

Is possibly one of the best players in NBA history has been screwed by free agency?

Nash has never, and at this rate probably will never, won an NBA championship with the Phoenix Suns. The Suns have not been able to bring in anyone to help Nash out since Shaquille O'Neal left.

The Phoenix management has taken advantage of Nash’s unwavering loyalty and has possibly screwed over one of the best dime givers ever.

Any Undrafted Free Agents in the NFL

Under the new deal that the NFL managed to scramble together, this past year, teams are now severely restricted on how much they can spend on signing bonuses.

Now limited to $75,000 in signing bonuses an agent's job is now much harder than before.

As described in an article by Mike Florio, agents will have a much harder time figuring out how serious a team is about players based on the signing bonus they offer because they have so little to offer.

Victor Cruz

Unfortunately, Victor Cruz will get the short end of the stick when he becomes a restricted free agent at the end of this next football season.

The Giants are already over the salary cap and next season it is expected to stay fairly level. So, the Giants won’t be in a position to hand out a large contract to Cruz

Dan Marino

Dan Marino is possibly the most screwed free agent of anyone to ever play football, maybe even all of sports. Marino played 16 years in the NFL, all of them with the Miami Dolphins and never once did he win a championship.

Marino is regarded as the best player to have never won a championship, all thanks to Miami’s inability to find some help.
