Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks: 3 Reasons to Support Them This NBA Season

The New York Knicks and Miami Heat are facing each other tonight at the American Airlines Arena in Miami Florida. While my favorite team is the Miami Heat (and will always be), I am beginning to have a spot for Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks.

The following are the three reasons to support Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks.

The first reason to support Jeremy Lin is the insensitive article written by David Brooks of the New York Times. The second reason was the insensitive headline about Lin written by Anthony Federico (formerly of ESPN) and reported in NBC Sports.

I am sick and tired of people making comments about Lin on the basis of his beliefs and background. The comments about Lin's personal life—including the rumor about Kim Kardashian—are tiring as well.

The third (but most important) reason Jeremy Lin deserves support is because he wants to play basketball. When I see him on the computer screen during an NBA game, it looks like he is enjoying himself in the sport.

The sports world (including basketball) is universal and knows no differences. The only thing that can be said is to wish Jeremy Lin the best in his NBA career and whatever he decides to do in the future.
