WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Results: 7 New Rivalries We Could See Going Forward
The Elimination Chamber has passed, and next stop is WrestleMania 28. The Elimination Chamber has spawned some different possibilities for future feuds and rivalries.
We may be in store for some intense rivalries that are going to be settled at WrestleMania or even after it.
Here is a look at rivalries that we could see going into WrestleMania and beyond.
Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus
Sheamus made a statement at the Elimination Chamber event by coming out after Daniel Bryan successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship.
Sheamus won the right to a title shot at WrestleMania when he won the Royal Rumble. He refused to reveal who he would challenge at first, although the only obvious choice was the World Heavyweight Champion.
What is interesting is that this match will be a rematch from WrestleMania 27. They had a match for the United States Championship that was a "dark" match. That match ended in a no-contest.
Expect this rivalry to pick up immediately as we already saw them get physical at the Elimination Chamber.
CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho
This rivalry has been slowly getting underway since Jericho's return, and it should really start to pick up soon.
Jericho will reveal that the meaning behind the promo videos from his return was that he was taking back the WWE Championship and the things that CM Punk supposedly stole from him.
This match has the potential to steal the show as both are excellent on the mic and in the ring.
Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger
Kofi Kingston has gotten a push as of late. He was in Raw's Elimination Chamber match, however the U.S. Championship is probably better suited for Kingston at this time.
Swagger is in need of a legitimate opponent to help his credibility as the U.S Champion—Kofi Kingston is that guy.
What Kingston brings is the excitement factor as he is an athletic fan favorite. His style could mix nicely in the ring with Swagger's, and it could bring an exciting rivalry for WrestleMania and after that.
Santino Marella or Goldust vs. Cody Rhodes
Rumors started swirling that Cody Rhodes would take on his brother Goldust in a match at WrestleMania. If these rumors come true, we could soon see a rivalry start between the two as they try and build their match at WrestleMania 28.
However, the most notable thing from the Elimination Chamber was the pop that Santino Marella got from the crowd. He was close to winning the World Heavyweight Championship after he deliverd a "Cobra" shot to Daniel Bryan. He was able to eliminate Cody Rhodes.
The WWE may try to keep the momentum and try and get more big responses from the crowd by putting Santino in a serious rivalry with Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. If Rhodes and Goldust do not face each other at WrestleMania, we could see Santino and Rhodes start a rivalry of their own.
Tamina Snuka vs. Beth Phoenix
Whether Kharma will return for a much-anticipated match against Beth Phoenix is still unknown. One thing that is known is the impressive performance by Tamina Snuka against Phoenix at the Elimination Chamber.
Tamina and Phoenix put on an impressive and exciting match, which has not been the trend for the Diva's division as of late. It looked as if Tamina would actually win the match after she landed a "Superfly Splash" from the top ropes.
Tamina is one of the only Diva's that match can Phoenix in strength and ability, so a rivalry and match at WrestleMania could be very intriguing. That is, however, if Kharma does not return in time.
John Laurinaitis vs. Teddy Long
We started to see this rivalry get underway at Elimination Chamber. We could see a battle between these two General Managers as one tries to one up the other with their performances.
This could be the start of a rivalry that is settled at WrestleMania. We could see the two recruit the top superstars from the opposite brand to compete in a ladder match at WrestleMania in which the winning brand's General Manager wins the right to be the GM of both brands.
Triple H vs. Undertaker
It appears as if we are going to see another rematch between Undertaker and Triple H. Although Triple H has declined to compete against Undertaker so far, we will most likely see that change very soon and a real rivalry will start to heat up.
It was announced after Elimination Chamber that Undertaker would be on Raw the following night to call out Triple H. Since there really is no other way for the WWE to go now, Triple H will try to once again to end the streak of the Undertaker.
