EDIT: Seals-Jones has officially committed to Texas.

Recently, Max Olson of HornsNation has reported that 5-star WR Ricky Seals-Jones could be down to Texas and LSU.

The man that they call "R S-J" is one of the top WR prospects in the country and has offers from many powerhouses.

Yet, for this read, I'm going to give you seven reasons as to why Seals-Jones could end up choosing the Longhorns over the Tigers.

7. Terrence Toliver

Remember a few years back when Toliver was a hot-shot WR prospect from Texas? He was a can't miss guy, had all the tools and was thought to be destined for stardom.

Sounds similar to Rciky Seals-Jones, doesn't it? Both are tall WR prospects, extremely athletic and look the part.

Well, Toliver went to LSU and never really developed and fulfilled his promise. Maybe RSJ could choose to go the other way than what Toliver did.

6. Texas' Better History with WR Development

With recent greats like Roy Williams, BJ Johnson, Jordan Shipley, Limas Sweed, Quan Cosby and even back to Eric Metcalf, Texas has seen its fair share of great WRs in Austin.

Maybe Seals-Jones wants to join that company...

5. Basketball

Seals-Jones is a 6'5" athlete, so of course he's a hoops player, right? Correct. If he wants to continue his play on the hardwood, I'd imagine Texas' men's basketball team is more appealing than LSU's.

No offense, LSU, but not only is Texas a solid football program, but Rick Barnes is a three-time coach of the year in the Big 12.

The Longhorns are a prominent program on the court too, not just the gridiron.

4. Cayleb Jones

Texas signed 5-star WR Cayleb Jones last cycle, which could be a pull for Seals-Jones. Knowing that he could go to Austin and form a great tandem with another great WR could appeal to the talented 2013 WR prospect.

Even if he becomes a TE, Big 12 teams will still find it difficult to double cover both Jones and Seals-Jones.

So maybe the thought having single coverage much of his career is another allure for him.

3. Easier Road to a BCS Bowl

Should Seals-Jones choose LSU, then he'd be headed for the SEC, which clearly is the best conference in America.

Only problem is, it's clearly the best conference in America.

The competition is grand in the SEC, and it's a battle just win your division (let alone the entire conference) in itself. So if RSJ wants to go a BCS bowl game or the national title game, the easier road to either one may be through the Big 12.

2. Tyrone Swoopes

Receivers are not dumb folks, they really do consider who the QB of a team is, especially in recruiting. Sure Texas has David Ash and Case McCoy right now, and neither separated themselves from the other during the season.

But Connor Brewer will be on hand this this year, and Texas just got a commitment from Tyrone Swoopes, who could be the next Vince Young.

Swoopes has a lot of hype around the Lone Star State, and playing with a QB of his caliber if your WR or future TE like Seals-Jones would be highly beneficial.

1. He's a Texan

It's always hard for out of state programs to come into Texas and get an elite prospect that the Longhorns want. Around the state, many prep players dream of receiving a scholarship offer from UT, and when UT offers, they pounce on it.

Plus, Seals-Jones can stay in-state, close to home and become a star in front of his friends and family.

That's could be a difference-making reason he could spurn LSU for Texas.
