Duke Basketball

Forgive me for being only 19 years old, but these Duke teams contain only the players that I have watched thoroughly and been able to make honest assessments of.

So if your looking for Laettner, Hill, Dawkins, Ferry, or Hurley, well, you won't find them.

These are my Duke superlatives from what I have seen live with my own eyes.

The teams are ordered by position.

Black Team

Jason Williams, Trajon Langdon, Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer, Shelden Williams

White Team

Steve Wojo, Chris Collins, J.J. Redick, Mike Dunleavy, Cherokee Parks

Fun to Watch (I smiled when they got the ball)

Steve Wojo, Nick Price, Corey Maggette, Josh McRoberts, Cherokee Parks

Clutch (Little kids dreamed of these moments)

Jason Williams, Jeff Capel, Sean Dockery, Nate James, Carlos Boozer

Bench (Wave the towels, slap the floor, and pump up the crowd)

Jay Heaps, Justin Caldbeck, Ryan Caldbeck, Patrick Johnson, Matt Christensen

Feel Good Team (Great stories, gotta love 'em)

Nolan Smith, Dahntay Jones, Luol Deng, Shane Battier, Elton Brand

Waste of Talent (They were supposed to be so good!)

William Avery, Nick Price, Shavlik Randolph, Josh McRoberts, Taymon Domzalski

Best Use of Talent (Average-turned-star)

Chris Duhon, Chris Collins, Chris Carrawell, Nate James, Shelden Williams

Mean Team (Mothers wouldn't let their sons play against this team)

Nick Price, Chris Collins, Corey Maggette, Nate James, Casey Sanders

Personal Favorites

Steve Wojo, Trajon Langdon, Gerald Henderson, Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer

Dukies (Born, bred, and always breathing Duke basketball)

Steve Wojo, Dahntay Jones, Lee Melchionni, Casey Sanders, Chris Burgess

Greatest of the Last 15 Years

Jason Williams, Chris Collins, J.J. Redick, Shane Battier, Carlos Boozer

  1. Chris Collins was an awful basketball player-so was Mcroberts-
    Boozer not so clutch-
    Reddick -one dimensional-

    Where is Grant Hill?
You forgot the single most important reason why Duke wins basketball games-

    PARTISAN REFEREES-

    1. -YES, Chris Collins was good, led Duke in scoring for three years.
-That's why McRoberts was on the waste-of-talent team, but still fun to watch.
-Did you watch Boozer in 2001 against Arizona?
-"One dimensional" players don't win player of the year awards.
-I was too young to develop any likes for Grant Hill.

If you don't like Duke, don't try to tell me who deserves what superlatives. I have consciously watched every Duke game since 1994.
