College Football Recruiting: 2013 Western Prospects to Watch

    Now that the 2012 recruiting classes have finally come to a close (except for Davonte' Neal) there truly is no rest for the wicked as colleges now focus on the 2013 recruiting class. 

    Offers are being made, junior days are being attended and recruiting is in full swing once again.

    The west last year was highlighted by the likes of Shaq Thompson, Arik Armstead, Kyle Murphy, Josh Garnett, and Zach Banner. So who are the next big names and 5-stars?

Quarterbacks

    Cooper Bateman- Offers: Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss among several others.

    Max Browne- Easily the top quarterback in the west this class, Browne will be heavily in the talk of who should be crowned the number one quarterback in the nation.

    As a junior he threw for over 4,000 yards, 45 touchdowns, over 70 percent completion rating,  only throwing seven interceptions and earning Gatorade underclassmen player of the year honors for the state of Washington.

    He has drawn offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Cal, Clemson, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oregon State, USC, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.

    Hayden Rettig- Offers: Auburn, Boston College and UCLA among many others.

    Troy Williams- Was 200-for-317 for 2,597 yards and 23 touchdowns to nine interceptions as a 2010 sophomore. Has offers from Arizona State, UCLA, and Washington among others.

Running Backs

    Deon Martin- Rushed for 1,900 yards and 23 touchdowns as a sophomore. Offers: UCLA

    Thomas Tyner- This speedster from Aloha, Oregon has already given his pledge to the Ducks. He ran for 19 touchdowns, and 1821 yards on only 197 carries which is 9.24ypc! 

    Justin Davis- Ran for an incredible 2,613 yards and 39 touchdowns his junior season. Sports offers from Michigan, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and USC among others.

    Craig Lee- Sports offers from Colorado, San Diego St., UCLA, and Washington

    Jalen Ortiz- Ran for 751 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore and has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Purdue, and Washington. 

Wide Receivers

    Devon Allen- Caught 60 passes for 915 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore. Offers: Michigan, Mississippi State, and Stanford among others.

    Sebastian LaRue- Caught 60 passes for 949 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior. Offers: Arizona, Arizona State, Mississippi State, UCLA and Washington among others.

    Steven Mitchell- Offers: Notre Dame, SMU, UCLA and Washington

Tight End

    Marcus Baugh- Had 17 catches for 373 yards and four touchdowns as a junior. Offers: Florida, Nebraska, UCLA and Washington 

Offensive Tackle

    Riley Sorenson- Offers: SMU, Washington and Washington State

    Kenny Lacy- Offers: Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oregon State, Purdue, San Diego State, Utah and Washington

    Aaron Cochran- Cochran is a monster that stands 6’8”, 350lbs whose brother just signed with Cal. Offers: Cal, Colorado, Washington and Washington State

Offensive Guard

    Christopher Fox

    Offers: Colorado, Florida State, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Ohio State, and Purdue.

    John Lopez

    Offers: Colorado, Florida State and UCLA.

    Evan Voeller

    Offers: Boise State, Purdue, UCLA and Washington

    Reeve Koehler

    Offers: Hawaii, Utah, Washington and Washington State

Defensive Tackle

    Eddie Vanderdoes

    Vanderdoes is an animal that racked up 65 tackles, 10 sacks, and three forced fumbles. Offers: Cal, Michigan State, Ole Miss, and UCLA among others. 

    Kenneth Clark

    As a sophomore he managed to earn 8.5 sacks and 31 tackles, with 17 of them for a loss.

Defensive End

    Marcus Farria

    Joe Mathis

    Recorded 80 tackles, eight sacks, and forced two fumbles as a junior.

    Offers: Nebraska, Oklahoma, UCLA, and USC among several others.

    Kylie Fitts

    Offers: Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Washington among several others.

Outside Linebacker

    Michael Hutchings

    The best linebacker to come out of the west since Vontaze Burfict, Hutchings is an animal.

    Offers: Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon and USC among several others.

    Myles Jack

    Offers: UCLA, Virginia, and Washington

Middle Linebacker

    Chans Cox

    As a sophomore Cox recorded 86 tackles and eight sacks.

    Offers: Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma, and Washington among others.

    Sean Constantine

    An up and comer from national power Bellevue High School in Bellevue, WA.

    Offers: UCLA and Washington.

Safety

    Hatari Bird

    Offers: Arizona State, Notre Dame, UCLA and Washington among others.

    Su’a Cravens

    The best in the nation, and could be a 5-star at either safety or linebacker.

    Tahaan Goodman

    Offers: Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Nebraska and Washington among many others.

    Max Redifield

    Priest Willis

    Offers: Cal, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, UCLA, USC and Virginia among several others.

Cornerback

    Dashon Hunt

    The UCLA commit was dominant with 60 tackles, five pass deflections, and seven interceptions as a sophomore.
