The Boise State Broncos have become a force in the college football world.

Over the last decade, this team from Idaho has made a name for itself. However, they didn't just come out of nowhere. They have been playing football in Boise for a very long time.

Throughout the history of Boise State football, they have won several championships at various levels and produced several quality players.

This list contains only a few of them.

This might be a controversial pick, but Titus Young was certainly impressive in his rookie season.

There are several players who could also be considered at this spot, but Titus Young just stands out.

Young played beyond his years last season for the Lions. In his first year in the league, he caught 48 passes for 607 yards and six touchdowns. You can be certain those numbers will only multiply.

If he continues to improve and gain confidence, he will be a very special player in the NFL. Look for him to make a few Pro Bowls before he is finished in Detroit.

Rick Woods

Rick Woods had a good NFL career from 1982-1987. He played all but one of those years in Pittsburgh.

In his career, he had 13 interceptions and nearly 600 return yards. He was a consistent contributor and did whatever was asked of him.

He is a Boise native and played at Boise High before his career at Boise State.

While playing for the Broncos, he was part of the I-AA national championship team.

Jeb Putzier

Jeb Putzier is another local guy. He went to Eagle High School and was an outstanding football and basketball player.

Obviously, he went on to play for Boise State and had a great career for the Broncos.

Puzier spent seven years in the league and made 96 grabs for 1,251 yards and three touchdowns. He was the kind of role player a coach could depend on, and his blocking abilities made him a great asset.

He was drafted in the sixth round at pick No. 191 by the Denver Broncos and turned it into a decent NFL career.

Orlando Scandrick

Orlando Scandrick has been a member of the Dallas Cowboys since 2008. He was drafted in the fifth round and has never looked back.

In his career for the Cowboys, Scandrick has had 182 tackles, 6.5 sacks, three interceptions, forced two fumbles and recovered one.

He has continued to improve his skills, and he's a valued member of the franchise.

Look for him to continue his success and make his mark in Dallas.

Chris Carr

Chris Carr was born in Reno but played college football in Boise. He was not drafted into the NFL, but he made the Oakland Raiders squad in 2005 as a special teams guy.

It is a great story and indicative of a typical Boise State player. A hard worker who earned every minute he played, he has turned that grit and struggle into a long and successful NFL career.

He has played for Oakland, Tennessee and is currently a member of the Baltimore Ravens. Over his career, he has amassed 210 tackles, 2.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, six interceptions and a touchdown. He has also gained an impressive 6,174 return yards between punts and kickoffs.

He is a great testimony at what hard work and determination will do.

Kimo von Oelhoffen has one of the greatest names in NFL history. He is also an incredible player. He was drafted in the sixth round by the Cincinnati Bengals. He then went on to play for Pittsburgh and finished with the Jets and the Eagles.

He was part of the Super Bowl XL champion Pittsburgh Steelers team.

Overall, he played 15 years in the league and had 351 tackles, 26.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and one blocked kick.

His consistent play made him a reliable contributor and that led to a long and successful career.

Daryn Colledge

Daryn Colledge is a great guy and a great player. Recently, it was reported in the Idaho Statesman that Colledge donated $150,000 to Boise State. It is the kind of move that just confirms what kind of guy he is.

He has been a consistent NFL player over the course of the last six years. He was drafted by Green Bay in the second round of the 2006 draft.

He went on to play for the Packers until 2010. He was part of the Super Bowl XLV championship team in Green Bay.

He is currently playing for the Arizona Cardinals and shows no signs of slowing down.

Quintin Mikell is an outstanding player. He was great for the Broncos and he has been great in the NFL.

He was undrafted in 2003, but he made the Philadelphia Eagles' roster through some serious hard work and amazing talent.

He went on to become a two-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection in 2009 and 2010.

He is now a member of the St. Louis Rams. In his career, he has been able to produce some impressive totals.

In his nine years in the league, Mikell has 537 tackles, five sacks, 12 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, 12 interceptions and a blocked kick.

Ryan Clady was a first-round draft pick in 2008. He went from the Boise State Broncos to the Denver Broncos.

Since arriving in Denver, he has become a force on the line. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2009 and 2011. He was also selected as an All-Pro in 2008 and 2009.

Look for him to continue this kind of success in the NFL. By the time he is done, he should have a few more All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections on his resume.

Dave Wilcox

This one is a little strange. Anyone who knows the history understands that comment.

Dave Wilcox was born in Ontario, Oregon, which is only 50 miles from Boise, Idaho. Wilcox started his college career at Boise Junior College before transferring to the University of Oregon.

Oregon fans probably have a problem with Wilcox on the top of the Boise State list, but it is what it is. He played for the Broncos and the Ducks.

Wilcox was part of some amazing San Francisco 49ers teams in the '60s and '70s. In total, he played 11 years in the league.

He was drafted in the third round in the 1964 draft. He went on to become a seven-time Pro Bowl selection.

Wilcox was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000, and he's certainly the most decorated NFL player who ever laced up for the Broncos.
