WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: Chris Jericho Will Continue Bizarre Heel Turn
It took weeks for WWE legend Chris Jericho to start talking on the microphone again, but now that he is, CM Punk has gone silent.
Is this too much or is it actually starting to make sense? A little of both.
While the initial silence by Jericho started off amazing, it quickly lost steam before fans grew weary of him. I advocated that Y2J was a wrestling genius, but his return was a flop.

The even bigger flop belongs to WWE, though. It was plain to see that Jericho was supposed to win the Royal Rumble and challenge for the WWE title, but an executive decision came down that the winner instead would be Sheamus.
So much for changing the world.
With a meaningless attack on Punk to kick the feud off in the most lackluster way possible, Jericho wanted to start the pipe bombs off last week. CM Punk wasn’t having it.
As much as I loved the fact that Punk didn’t say a word but instead gave Jericho a taste of his own medicine, it should have been done so much better. The problem is how long it took to get to this point.
If Jericho had come back and screwed Punk out of the WWE title on Raw the night he returned or at least screwed Punk over at Royal Rumble, we could have talking going on already. Or at least some promos.
Instead, a company desperate for wrestlers that can work the mic is allowing its two best talkers to not verbally attack each other. This is yet another piece of evidence that the decision-making of the company is going insane.
Hopefully this week will mark the beginning of the war of words. Probably not.
