The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am brings some of our favorite celebrities to the golf course in an event unlike any other in golf. Many times, those celebrities include people who have made a name for themselves in other sports.

Here I'll be taking a look at each one of the football personalities participating in the Pro-Am. There's a good list of players, coaches and analysts whose golf games are apparently good enough to earn them spots in a field that includes Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Ian Poulter.

So without further ado, here are eight football celebrities who are testing their abilities on a different type of venue this weekend.

Aaron Rodgers

2011 NFL MVP award-winner and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is well-known for his ability hit receivers and put up high numbers on the scoreboard.

But can he hit a golf ball and put up low numbers this weekend?

Rodgers is a registered six-handicap and is paired up with D.J. Trahan this weekend. Through round one they were -7, but still well off the lead.

Bob Stoops

Bob Stoops' Oklahoma Sooners look to be in good shape for a national title run in 2012, as star quarterback Landry Jones decided to return for his senior year.

On the golf course, however, a title run is not likely.

Stoops is paired with Oklahoma alum Hunter Haas, and after Thursday's -4 at Spyglass Hill, the two are are just above what would be the cut line at a traditional tournament.

Stoops is a decent golfer who has played Augusta National a few times and holds a media golf outing every year as a part of the Oklahoma preseason activities.

Bill Belichick

Few things are more comforting than taking a metal stick and beating the absolute crap out of a tiny ball.

For Bill Belichick, who is less than a week removed from losing to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, playing golf at Pebble Beach has to be a welcomed escape.

Belichick is more of a casual golfer, posting a handicap in the mid-teens. His score didn't reflect that, however, as he and partner Ricky Barnes put together a round of 66 at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club on Thursday.

Nick Saban

One coach who did win his sport's championship game is Alabama's Nick Saban.

After winning the BCS National Championship game in convincing fashion over LSU, Saban put together college football's top recruiting class. He deserves to be treated to a few rounds of golf at Pebble Beach.

Saban's history with golf includes a jab at the Golf channel, in which he used it as a punch line for weak or laid back entertainment. He does golf a lot in his free time, however, so I'm sure he appreciates the laid back nature of this fine sport.

Saban is paired with PGA Tour rookie Bud Cauley, who graduated from Alabama last year. The two had an okay round on Thursday, going -4 and finishing the day tied for 79th.

Herm Edwards

Notoriously intense ESPN analyst and former coach Herm Edwards will have to control himself on the course this weekend as he pairs up with James Driscoll at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

According to a Golf Digest interview in 2009, Edwards didn't pick up golf until late in his life, but has practiced hard and sits right around a 10-handicap.

Edwards and Driscoll opened with a 69, starting them tied for 101st on Friday.

Jim Harbaugh

San Francisco 49ers' head coach Jim Harbaugh enters the Pebble Beach Pro-Am coming off his first season as an NFL coach. He put his faith in quarterback Alex Smith and turned the Niners into a team that was three points away from the Super Bowl.

Well he put his faith in Smith again, but this time as his caddy.

Harbaugh and his partner Ryan Moore started slow on Thursday with a 69, but came on strong in day two, posting a -9 at Monterey Peninsula.

Chris Berman

ESPN's Chris Berman is primarily a football analyst, but he has covered golf as well. He was on the broadcasting team for the U.S. Open and usually joins Scott Van Pelt and Rick Reilly for major tournament analysis segments.

But Berman is the one being analyzed this week, as he plays with J.J. Henry at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.  The duo hasn't made any amazing jumps up the leaderboard, but has been consistent, posting a 65 in the first round and on pace for the same in the second.

Tony Romo

Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo is well-known for his golfing, which is probably what got him paired with Tiger Woods this week.

Romo does his best to make the U.S. Open as an amateur each year, but has failed to make it all the way through the qualifying process thus far.

He was, however, named the "Top Athlete-Golfer" by Golf Digest in 2009 and has a good chance to eventually become a participant in the U.S. Open if he keeps going for it.

Through the first two rounds, Tony and Tiger are a pedestrian -10, posting a 65 and 67 on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
