Boxing fans were let down when news broke that Manny Pacquiao would not be fighting Floyd Mayweather, Jr. this year, which is exactly the reason Pac-Man has to put on one heck of a performance in his June 9 fight against young Timothy Bradley.

People want to see great excitement in a boxing match, but the fight between Pacquiao and Bradley won't be anywhere close to the greatness that would have been Pac-Man vs. Pretty Boy Floyd.

That's the one fight fans have been anxiously waiting for, but sadly, it doesn't appear it will ever happen. Because the talks fell through, Pacquiao needs to please his fans in a big way. This means he has to excel in his match against Bradley.

While fans will want a good fight, it will benefit Pacquiao more to make quick work of Bradley. Pac-Man has far greater experience, and he should have no trouble against Desert Storm.

Bradley gets his big moment in a few months, hoping to shock the world and upset Pacquiao. Since Desert Storm is undefeated at 28-0, some believe he has a good shot at giving Pacquiao a hard time.

After all, Pacquiao didn't cruise in his last fight like expected, which gives hope for Bradley.

However, this just means Pac-Man has to step up and remind everyone why he is the greatest pound-for-pound boxer there is today.

Fans will always tune in to a Pacquiao fight, but because this isn't against Mayweather, it's a bit of a letdown. People will still watch, but they won't be nearly as excited as they could have been.

Because of that, Pac-Man has to rise to the occasion and put on a great show for his fans. In order to do that, he'll have to thrive in the early going and never look back.

Any signs of struggle against Bradley and fans will be disappointed, simply because it will open up discussion as to whether Pacquiao has lost his step. If that were to happen, it would also put a damper on the potential superfight with Mayweather.

A true dominant showing by Pacquiao will put a smile on everyone's face, as they will be overcome with joy after witnessing today's top boxer absolutely annihilate a no-name opponent.
