WWE News: Updates on the Returns of Alberto Del Rio and Christian

I apparently live in a bizzaro world of some sort. Or else I've come to stark realization about how much I actually like certain wrestlers.

On Twitter yesterday, I was lamenting the fact that I actually miss Alberto Del Rio. For me to miss Del Rio, something much be wrong with the world. But things are what they are and I miss the Mexican Aristocrat's work in the ring.

It also occurred to me that Christian is due back very soon. Something hopefully that perks up Bleacher Report's resident Peep's representative, Daff.

Both men are two of the better wrestlers in the WWE and have been missed in some subtle ways. To be blunt, their lack of presence has hurt the in-ring product in a number of ways.

Fortunately, it seems that both are ready to go.

LordsofPain.net noted the following info:

Miguel sent word that for this Saturday's SmackDown live event at The Cow Palace in San Francisco, WWE had been advertising Sheamus vs. a returning Christian. The Cow Palace has updated their page for this weekend's event and now lists Sheamus vs. the returning Alberto Del Rio in a RAW vs. SmackDown Challenge match.

At last word, Christian was ready to return but there's no word yet on why he was pulled from this weekend's listings. WWE is also advertising Del Rio for Sunday's SmackDown live event in Bakersfield, California.

There is always some light at the end of the tunnel.

As you might recall, Christian suffered a high ankle sprain in Brussels during the WWE's European Tour in November of last year. Alberto Del Rio tore his groin muscle during a six-man tag team match on Raw right after TLC 2011.

Both men were World Champions during 2011. Del Rio had a more colorful year with winning the 2011 Royal Rumble match, Raw's "Money In The Bank" briefcase and the WWE Championship two times.

Christian, a longtime veteran of the WWE, finally achieved gold (discounting his ECW Championship wins) by defeating Del Rio in a ladder match at Extreme Rules for the World Heavyweight Championship and going on to feud with Randy Orton over the same belt. He held the coveted strap twice before being thrown into an extended feud with Sheamus.

With the WWE's recent issues with wrestlers suffering injuries such as Truth's scary fall last Monday and Eve's broken nose on the same program, the WWE sorely needs their presence and both will likely be on TV soon.

Welcome back, guys.
