Ask any realistic New York Giants fan if they thought they'd be Super Bowl XLVI champs a few weeks before the playoffs began and most would say that they didn't think they had much of a chance. Well, that small window of hope was enough, and now they're all honoring the Giants with a huge parade today.

This season was a huge roller-coaster ride for the Giants, but the end was the most satisfying part. It was a fantastic finish to the year, which made it an extraordinary year.

The Giants were 6-6 heading into Week 14 against their arch-rival, the Dallas Cowboys, and several people didn't think they'd even make the playoffs.

New York ended up winning the NFC East, going 3-1 in their last four games. Then the Giants proceeded to get hot at the right time once again, and the rest is history.

According to WPIX in New York, the parade party will be today, Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m.

It will begin at Battery Place and Washington Street and continue northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to Worth Street.

There will also be a ceremony at City Hall, where Mayor Bloomberg will hand over the keys to the city. The parade is free, but you will need a ticket for the ceremony portion. If you can't get a ticket, though, don't worry because there will be three big screens outside available for the public to watch the ceremony.

Mayor Bloomberg told WPIX that, "Big Blue gave us a game to remember, and on Tuesday we're going to give them a parade to remember."

The Giants gave their fans a whole season to remember. It was truly remarkable, as the team overcame an awful four-game losing streak to be first be crowned division champs and then Super Bowl champs.

While the fans may have believed in their team all along, there was a time this past season where everything looked bleak. To be able to look back and see how far the Giants really came, it makes the parade even sweeter.

Rejoice in your moment Giants fans, because even though you've won the big game before, there's never a guarantee you'll get back there again someday. These championship parades are meant to celebrate the team for their excellent achievements, and relish in the success of this past season.
