The Denver Broncos have a huge decision on their hands in wake of a report that running back Knowshon Moreno was arrested for a DUI last week as first reported by FOX 31 in Denver.

Lindsey Jones of The Denver Post is reporting the arrest happened last week:

The Broncos have already released a statement regarding today’s news:

We take the incident involving Knowshon Moreno very seriously and are thoroughly reviewing this matter. Our organization will continue to gather information and closely monitor this issue while the legal process runs its course.

The report states that Moreno was pulled over while going 70 MPH in a construction zone where the speed limit is 45. The officer detected the smell of alcohol and subjected the 24-year-old to a field sobriety test. He failed a breath test and was arrested. To add insult to injury, the license plate on his Bentley read “SAUCED.”

Will Moreno Play for the Broncos in 2012?

The 12th overall pick in the 2009 draft has yet to live up to the high expectations that come with being a top pick and it makes you wonder if the Broncos are ready to get rid of him if he turns out to be guilty.

Moreno is coming off a year where he only suited up for seven games and mustered a mere 179 yards on 37 attempts. It didn’t take very long for Willis McGahee to overtake the starting spot despite looking washed up in previous years.

While the Broncos won’t be making any snap decisions until all of the information is discovered, if I’m Denver I think long and hard about getting rid of him. He is injury prone, doesn’t make decisive cuts and can’t get that tough one yard when the team needs to convert a third and short.

Now he may be subjected to an suspension from the league depending on the court’s ruling.
