After adding Kenyon Martin to the fold, could the Los Angeles Clippers also be looking to add J.R. Smith to the second unit as well?

The Washington Wizards continue to try and find a way to rid of Andray Blatche, and Glen Davis is performing more of the same antics that he showed in Boston with his new team in Orlando.

With updates on Greg Oden, Gilbert Arenas and even Brook Lopez, we've got it all covered from the action this weekend as we enter another excellent week of NBA basketball in the 2011-12 season.

Kenyon Martin

Martin is going to play a sizable role for the Clippers upon making his debut, and there is no question he adds a tremendous amount of depth along the front line.

The Clippers expect him to play significant minutes, and it's imperative that Los Angeles gets Blake Griffin some much needed rest before the postseason.

Martin is a much better low-post defender than is readily discussed, and he will bring some serious tenacity to the second unit.

J.R. Smith

J.R. Smith is going to attract (and already has) an immense amount of interest when he returns from China as an unrestricted free agent, and there is no question he'll join a competitor.

Although the Clippers will be among those clubs pursuing him, the expectation is that he will join his friend Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks.

The Knicks could definitely use some instant offense off the bench with a player who is so capable of stretching the floor.

Glen Davis

Another year, a different uniform, the same Big Baby.

After Davis had been suspended by the Magic for two games following a "heated argument" with Stan Van Gundy, the free-agent acquisition will sit down with his coach and general manager Otis Smith on Monday.

Orlando had no trouble investing four years and $25 million in Davis during the offseason.

Greg Oden

It's another sad chapter in the Greg Oden career saga.

After the big man underwent a fourth knee surgery last week in Colorado, Oden is tentatively scheduled to undergo his fifth knee procedure since joining the Trail Blazers later this month.

Although the Trail Blazers haven't publicly shut the door on Oden's career in Portland, it's hard to imagine he has any chance of ever wearing Rip City across his chest again.

Charlie Villanueva

Villanueva has been one of the biggest free-agent busts in recent Pistons history, and absolutely nothing has changed this season.

He's been dealing with an ankle injury all year long, and the veteran is now having his ankle partially immobilized in an attempt to expedite the healing process.

There remains no timetable for his return, and it would not be a shock to see Detroit use its amnesty clause on Villanueva in the offseason.

Elton Brand

Elton Brand was unable to play on Saturday due to a thumb injury, and although the swelling has gone down, it is not to the point where he's able to play on Monday.

Brand has been ruled out for Monday's contest despite the fact that he wanted to try and play through it, but the Sixers will exercise the utmost caution with the starting power forward.

Philadelphia has been absolutely rolling this season, and Doug Collins has his team playing an unbelievable brand of basketball.

Ramon Sessions

Sessions would seemingly be a very logical upgrade for the Lakers at the point guard position, but only at the right price.

Cleveland wants a first-round pick in exchange for the reserve, and that might be too steep of a price for the Lakers (or any other interested team) to pay at this time.

Sessions is expected to opt out of his contract at the end of the season, so any club pulling the trigger on a deal likely wouldn't be on the hook beyond the end of this year.

Jameer Nelson

Nelson hasn't been playing up to his typical standards this season, and the Magic have been very patiently waiting to see if he can turn it around.

He's been out since January 27 with a concussion, but he could return as soon as Monday for Orlando.

Nelson is going to have to perform much better and with greater consistency than he was prior to getting injured in order to salvage the first half of his season.

Andray Blatche

Blatche has not been well received by the Washington fanbase this season, and it's not a secret that Washington would love to move him and his bloated contract.

Although the Wizards would like to engage the Charlotte Bobcats in trade discussions for Boris Diaw (and his $9 million expiring deal), Michael Jordan's team isn't too interested in taking on more money.

The two teams had been discussing a deal involving Blatche and Tyrus Thomas, but nothing is imminent at this time.

Gilbert Arenas

There was a report that Arenas got "that Kobe treatment" on his knees from ex-teammate Nick Young, and it appears as if the point guard is finally ready to show interested teams what he's got left in the tank.

Arenas has scheduled a workout in Los Angeles, and although the Lakers had expressed some level of interest in him, it's not a lock that the team will be in attendance.

Given how sorely the Lakers need more offensive production as well as help at the point guard position, the team should really make sure someone from the front office goes to check him out.

Baron Davis

The Knicks had been hopeful that Baron Davis' back injury would heal by now, but a herniated disc can certainly cause some unexpected bumps in the road.

Davis has "a setback" while attempting to return, and he remains out indefinitely as a result.

It's unlikely that Davis will make his debut before the All-Star break, and it remains a guessing game as to when he'll actually be able to contribute.

Harvard grad Jeremy Lin will start for the Knicks at point guard on Monday.

Brook Lopez

There haven't been a ton of updates on Brook Lopez's rehab from a broken foot, but he's moving closer to a return for the Nets.

He was able to run, jump and even skip rope recently, but the center remains without a firm timetable.

The initial six-to-eight week road to recovery was given for him to return in mid-February, and there has been no indication or suggestion that he's fallen off course.
