WWE is the home to many serious gimmicks: Randy Orton is the viper—the apex predator of WWE, Kane is the Big Red Monster and Mark Henry "inducts" other wrestlers into the "Hall of Pain."

Among all of the seriousness, it's always refreshing to have a few talents on the roster who bring a little fun to the weekly episodes of RAW and Smackdown.

On the night of Brodus Clay's debut, many fans (myself included) expected to see another monster heel to be added to the RAW brand.

When Clay came out to "Somebody Call My Momma" by Jim Johnston, I was more than surprised.

To be honest, I was actually kind of angry.  I kind of wanted another monster heel, and I was disappointed.  Then I had some time to think about it, and changed my mind.

For the past few weeks, I've been watching RAW, as usual, but I noticed something: Clay is hysterical!

When he came out and made the "Funkasaurus Claws" I couldn't stop laughing.

Toward the end of most of his matches, he'll scream, "SOMEBODY CALL MA MOMMA!  FUNK IT!  SHOULD I HIT HIM?  SHCAABAM!"

This gimmick has done something for WWE's television viewers that few others can—it creates a relaxed atmosphere.

Now, I'm certainly not saying i don't like intensity in WWE programming.  Actually, I love it.

I just really appreciate guys like Clay who can take something seemingly ridiculous and work with it to contrast the other two hours of crazy story lines and dramatic angles.
