Arsenal Transfer News: Loic Remy and Best Summer Transfer Targets for Gunners

Nicholas GossJun 7, 2018

Arsenal once again did not strengthen their club enough during the January transfer window, and now they must climb into the top four with their current squad, which doesn't seem like a possibility.

With the top three places in the Premier League table unattainable for the Gunners, finishing ahead of Chelsea is their only way to secure Champions League football for next season.

After Wednesday's bad draw to Bolton Wanderers, a team who has been in the relegation zone for much of the year, Arsenal clearly made a mistake by not signing a big-name player in the transfer window.

Let's look at the players Arsenal must target in the summer transfer window to improve the club.

Loic Remy, ST, Marseille

The Frenchman is a fabulous attacking talent and can not only score goals against the best competition, he has shown the ability to improve each season he's played in France.

With Marseille making a great run to the round of 16 in the Champions League this season, it was unlikely Loic Remy would have been sold in January, despite a nice bid from Tottenham.

Remy has exceptional pace and is a dangerous striker when running at the defense. He is without question a rising star in world football.

With Dutch striker Robin van Persie having to shoulder so much of the scoring burden for Arsenal, they need a player such as Remy who can provide goal scoring on a consistent basis.

Aly Cissokho, LB, Lyon

Lyon left back Aly Cissokho would be a good fit at the Emirates for several reasons, one of which is he can defend and be a factor in the attacking third of the pitch.

Cissokho has good enough strength to defend well on the flanks or in the middle of the pitch, and also has the pace needed to make dangerous runs in the final third.

Cissokho is an experienced left-back and with the Gunners' injury issues at the position, signing the Frenchman would give them a reliable player who does not have a history with injuries.

Yann M'Vila, CDM, Stade Rennes

The Frenchman has been a staple of Laurent Blanc's French national team over the last year or so, and the Rennes midfielder is a great player who would help Arsenal at both ends of the pitch.

His strength and power makes him a fabulous defensive midfielder, and he can also play a role in the attacking third with his underrated passing skills.

Arsene Wenger has long coveted the French star, and with a move away from France's Ligue 1 in the summer likely, the Gunners could be the front runners to sign M'Vila soon.
