I am still baffled that the WWE allows people around when they are staging events in advance.
A few years back a video leaked of Undertaker and Paul bearer rehearsing their segment for later that day. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing these types of things come out once in a while. However, in the age we live in you would think that the WWE would do a better job protecting their brand?
About a week ago, the WWE crew went to Abu Dhabi for a live event and staged a press conference to promote it. During the conference, John Cena and Kane got into a confrontation that spilled into the media in attendance.
This battle was obviously set up before hand and now, prowrestling.net is reporting that a photo has surfaced with Kane and Cena prior to the event.
The photo clearly shows Cena was all Cena'd out, while Kane is in street clothes. Obviously, we all know what Kane looks like, but right now no one other than his real-life family should have a pic of Kane unmasked, without his wig.
I am not a pro-wrestling purist by any means, but it just goes to show you how much has changed since wrestling's inception. Any WWE Legend from the '70s or '80s will talk about how they had to live their character outside of the ring.
There was a time that heels and faces would never be seen out getting a drink together. Granted, these are different times and we know wrestling personas are just that and the people in the ring may not be the same in real life. Although, there is something to be said for a guy who is playing a demonic monster not at least wearing the mask and wig during rehearsal in public.
Maybe I am just overreacting here, so feel free to share your own thoughts in the comments section.
