Dorial Green-Beckham Would Be an Instant Star at Missouri

Richard LangfordJan 30, 2012

Pried recruit WR Dorial Green-Beckham would fill up highlight reels and stat sheets if chooses to attend the University of Missouri.

Rivals.com, among others, has DGB as the No. 1 recruit in the nation, and for good reason. The kid is everything you look for in a receiver. At 6'6" and 220 pounds he has amazing size, and with a reported 40 time of 4.43, he has remarkable speed for someone his size.

That's not all, either.

He is strong. Rivals lists his bench at 295 pounds and his squat at 385.

These attributes wouldn't mean much if he didn't have the game to go with it. And he definitely has that. Check out these highlights to get a taste of his ball skills and hands.

This dynamic youngster has his choice of schools, but it is at his home state, Missouri, where he will be an ideal fit and allowed to shine right away.

Destination Rumors

John Hoover of the Tulsa World is hearing that Missouri will indeed be his school of choice.

Obviously, things can change in an instant in the world of recruiting. We are talking about 18-year-old kids that are having red carpets rolled out for them left and right. But in this case, DGB would be wise to stick with this reported choice.

Potential Impact at Missouri

Under head coach Gary Pinkel, Missouri runs the spread offense. This is the school and system that propelled QB Blaine Gabbert into a first-round selection in last year's NFL draft.

Their passing numbers were down this season as they transitioned from Gabbert. They had sophomore QB James Franklin running the show, and he enjoyed less-than-elite weapons at wide receiver.

In fact, their top pass-catcher was a running back. You know Pinkel is dying to get back to a dominant passing offense, and DGB would help them do that.

He would be the team's No. 1 option the instant he steps on the field. He will get a ton of targets, and from there, his impressive natural ability will take over.

This is a match that would produce a record-breaking type of freshman season.
