The 2012 US Figure Skating Championships took place last week, and they did not disappoint for all those who watched.

There were some great routines, as well as surprise upsets and continued dominance.

After great performances, these skaters will now put all their focus on the world championships. Those who shined bright now have great confidence moving forward, which will greatly help them in the world championships.

With that said, here are the top performers from the 2012 US Figure Skating Championship.

Ashley Wagner

She was the big surprise of the event, as she shocked all and won the women's competition with a superb performance in the free skate.

Wagner, who is only 20 years old, won her first championship this weekend, which will help motivate her in the world championships.

She pulled off six triple jumps and won the competition by just over seven points.

Jeremy Abbott

Two-time champ Jeremy Abbott absolutely crushed his competition. His skills were far superior than all others in the men's competition, which made it easy for Abbott to dominate.

Abbott was nearly flawless in his routine, and ended up winning by almost 38 points to prove he is a dynamic force to fear in men's figure skating.

His final score of 273.58 was the highest ever at the US championship, and he will only continue to get better.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White

Reigning World Champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White once again had no trouble in free dance competition.

The pair won their fourth consecutive US title, showing that nobody can hang with them.

Davis and White are on a completely different level than their competitors, receiving near-perfect overall scores.

They did get a perfect 10 for interpretation and timing, and the cheers of the crowd helped push them to another big victory.
