Now that Jack Swagger has the United States Heavyweight Title and does not have to worry about the possibility of having to face Zack Ryder in a rematch anytime soon, it's time to start finding contenders to face him for the second-most prestigious title on Raw.

The title list is odd because there's so much cross-over talent and matches on both Raw and Smackdown. Deciding who gets a title shot and who doesn't really is a matter of creative trying to decide what's best for both brands and of course, ratings.

Swagger is a former World Champion on Smackdown and one of the most accomplished mat and amateur wrestlers to ever cross over to the professional ranks. While his brand and style is different than most, he would hold his own against the likes of Jack Brisco, Backlund and even Kurt Angle.

But who steps forward now in the present? Do we see a surprise contender? Do we see someone get a push they need or do we see the same contenders we always see when a title is up for grabs.

Here are some wrestlers who could give Swagger a run for his money, and better yet, a run for his title.

5. Mason Ryan

They need to find something to do with him. It is about time he started challenging for a title.

Ryan is mammoth and needs a push. The size and speed of him makes him too good to just sit in mid card status.

4. Sheamus

This would be a major letdown for The Great White.

I am not sure what's happening to the big Irishman. He looked primed for a title push, but Wade Barrett has become the top heel on SmackDown.

Sheamus has beat Swagger many times before and putting the US strap on him would be a huge insult.

But to keep him relevant, and not fighting Jinder Mahal every night, this may in fact happen.

3. Drew McIntrye

Do we finally get to see his talent shine through?

McIntyre is waste of talent right now, and I am not sure what his angle is and the story he is involved with on SmackDown.

Bring him over to Raw and let's see what he can do.

2. Kofi Kingston

While I don't like the idea of him holding the title again, he has nowhere to go right now in the company.

A "heel" turn would be great for him. Another tag team run would be beneficial (maybe if MVP returns?), and he needs a push in the worst way.

Does Kingston prove he's up to the challenge?

1. R-Truth

It's about time for all the Little Jimmy's to come out and help support R-Truth in his run as a champion.

While a feud with The Miz is still ongoing, Truth needs a push. When he came back from his "injury," and he started his revenge against Miz, it started fast and has fizzled.

The idea of the two of them going at it is great, but having R-Truth in an angle for a title is even better.
