The NHL All-Star Media day in Ottawa on Friday was a great opportunity to hear the All-Stars voice their feelings on how happy they were to be playing and participating in the weekend.

Jimmy Howard was no different in his tone.

When asked if there was anyone he wanted to thank to help him get to the All-Star Game at Friday's Media day, Howard responded: "I just want to thank the local radio station in Detroit for all of their support in an effort to help me get here."

Howard said that he "occasionally tunes in" to 101 WRIF in Detroit, but that he could not thank them enough for their support.

Howard also commented on Ovechkin's absence from the All-Star festivities when he said that it was too bad for Ovechkin, but that he "would not miss him bearing down on him in the skills competition."

As for any advice he had been given in regards to the All-Star Game and the Skills Competition, Howard said "just go out there and have fun, you know you're going to get 'lit up' by players on the other team."

Howard said that he had seen goaltenders (he cited Martin Brodeur and Dominik Hasek) get lit up in the All-Star Game, so he couldn't feel too bad about letting in a few.
