While most attention in the NBA is on players like Vince Carter, Jermaine O'Neal, Ron Artest, and Andre Miller, there are some other trades that could possibly happen before Thursday's trade deadline arrives.
Here are a few...
Ben Wallace, C, Chicago Bulls
It is noted around the league that Chicago is the team trying the hardest to get a deal done.
The management in the Windy City is trying to unload center Ben Wallace on some team, but hasn't been successful yet.
There is little to no interest in the aging 33 year old who is scheduled to make $28.5 million over the next two years. Only the Utah Jazz seem to be serious contenders.
Andrei Kirilenko, F, Utah Jazz
The forward from Russia is set to make $49.3 million over the next three years, and the Utah Jazz seem anxious to get rid of him.
A reported trade with Chicago seems unlikely because of Wallace's recent poor play, but Utah is desperate to be able to compete in a Western Conference now filled with Pau Gasol and Shaquille O'Neal.
The Bulls might not pull the trigger on this deal because they already have two good players playing at Kirilenko's position; Luol Deng and Andres Nocioni.
Ben Gordon, G, Chicago Bulls
Another player that Chicago would love to get rid of would be young Ben Gordon. It is also apparent that Gordon won't be spending many more years in Chicago.
When he turned down a $50 million extension before the season, the front office in Chicago must have decided that they could not keep both Gordon and Deng with them under their current salary cap.
It is thought that they will try to dangle Gordon to different teams in attempt to pick up a big man at a decent price. Experts have said that Seattle's Nick Collison is a possibility.
Cleveland Cavaliers
If I were Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry, I would take heed of The King's words. He has made it obvious that he wants help for the team that is currently riding on his shoulders.
He was outwardly disappointed when Cleveland didn't land Jason Kidd. How does he feel now that Mike Bibby isn't playing with him either?
I would expect Cleveland to make an unexpected move soon in order to appease LeBron James.
Other Possible Trades
The Denver Nuggets have discussed a deal that would bring in Jamaal Magloire and Bostjan Nachbar from the Nets for forward Nene.
Seattle is apparently ready to trade Kurt Thomas to San Antonio, but now it appears they are trying to modify the reported deal. League sources say that Delonte West of the Sonics is also available for trade.
Discussion between the Raptors and the Warriors has been underway, and it appears that a deal involving Mickael Pietrus going to Toronto for both Juan Dixon and Joey Graham is about to happen.

Excellent coverage! Way to report on a lot of things that don't get covered because of the same articles on the same trades over and over.

Nice write up. I'm very interested to see what happens today.
I also wrote an article about the NBA Trade Deadline but it mostly pertains to the Western Conference. Check it out!

It doesn't seem to me that the jazz wants to get rid of AK, he wanted out and they weren't happy with that, it just does not make much sense to me.
