They are not the only team that is interested in him, though. Joe Strauss of STLToday.com has noted that the St. Louis Cardinals have made an offer to Oswalt as well.

The market for Edwin Jackson has not developed the way that Scott Boras had hoped for. Teams have not expressed that much interest in his client until now.

Jackson could find his way to Baltimore next year, according to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun. He says that the Orioles are considering offering Jackson a four-year deal.

They will have competition for Jackson, as Jim Bowden has indicated that the Boston Red Sox have already made him an offer. The St. Louis Cardinals are also interested in Jackson, according to Jon Heyman.

Good relievers are hard to find, so it should be no surprise that teams around MLB are interested in Luis Ayala after the season that he had with the New York Yankees last year.

According to Alden Gonzalez of MLBlogs, there are a number of teams that have made formal offers to Ayala. Gonzalez lists the Los Angeles Angels as one of the teams that have made him an offer.

This is certainly the most out-there rumor that we will likely see all winter. According to Joe Stiglich of the Contra Costa Times, Jose Canseco wants to make a comeback and play for the Oakland Athletics.

Even at age 47, Canseco thinks that he can still play DH in the major leagues. He spent last season as a player/manager with the Yuma Scorpions of the North American Baseball League, and he hit just .256 with eight home runs in 237 at-bats.
