New England Patriots: Chad Ochocinco Flies to Miami for Father's Funeral

Tony SantorsaJun 7, 2018

New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco traveled to the Miami area last night to attend his father's funeral, according to the Boston Herald

Ochocinco's father passed away four days ago. Ochocinco sent out a tweet Monday stating "Please send your prayers n condolences to my older and youngest brothers...Our father passed this morning."

Due to the snow storm that struck the northeast Saturday, some are speculating about Ochocinco's availability for the team's biggest game of the season, the AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens. The weather conditions could certainly affect Ochocinco's travel back to the Boston area.

Ochocinco has played in 15 regular season games this season, as he only missed one, while recording 15 receptions for 276 yards and scoring one touchdown. The former All Pro wide receiver has had little to no impact this season with the Patriots and played in just one snap in the team's 45-10 victory over the Denver Broncos last Saturday night.

New England will likely start Wes Welker and Deion Branch at wide receiver with Julian Edelman and Tiquan Underwood rotating in and out as the team's backups Sunday afternoon against the Ravens.
