Shadrach Thornton back on the board?

If things don't work out with Cross, UK's former No. 1 running back target (and a former verbal commitment) may be available. Bleed Blue Kentucky is reporting that Shadrach Thornton has decommitted from NC State and will meeting with UK running backs coach Steve Pardue this week. Thornton is ranked as the No. 39 running back prospect in the country by ESPN.com.

Cats may snag another 4-star recruit from the Vols

Bleed Blue Kentucky also reports that UK assistant coach Greg Nord is meeting with another 4-star recruit who decommitted from Tennessee, Khalid Henderson, on Thursday.  Henderson, who is ranked as the No. 16 linebacker prospect in the country by ESPN.com, is not happy with how Tennessee treated him after they got is verbal. He has expressed an interest in playing  for the Wildcats.

Twitter Rumblings

Jeremy Jarmon posted this late Monday night/early Tuesday morning to his Twitter account:

"

Hearing the Cats got better tonight. Recruiting is finishing up strong with some big commits

"

Message boards are going crazy about who he may be talking about, but nothing has been confirmed. But when someone as smart and plugged-in as Jarmon makes a statement like that, it's probably going to be pretty good news.

I'm still far from satisfied with Joker Phillips' recruiting this year, but a pick up like Cross or Henderson would go a long way toward preparing me for a delicious plate of crow come signing day.
