5: "Go, Cubs, Go" by Steve Goodman

"Go, Cubs, Go" was written by Steve Goodman as a cynical apology to then Cubs GM Dallas Green calling his recent song "A Dying Cubs Fan's Last Request" too depressing.

While the song has been the team's official victory song for many seasons, it's overblown delusions of grandeur and excellence seem to be rubbing salt in the wounds of the Wrigley faithful when they see the Cubs win a game in mid-September, and the Cubs are 15 games out.

4: "All the Way" by Eddie Vedder

Eddie Vedder's "All The Way" has captured the hearts of Cub fans, showing a love of the team in the face of seemingly endless torturous season endings.

However, the song's tones and lyrics seem to give the feeling of some hopelessness, despite the song's intent.

3: "Hey Hey Holy Mackerel" by Johnny Frigo

The quintessential Cubs song was written by Johnny Frigo back in 1968, and it quickly rose to popularity the next year as the Cubs came oh-so close to making their first World Series trip in 29 years.

Often used in nostalgic settings only, "Hey Hey, Holy Mackerel" is still a solid song about the North Siders.

The song chronicles the final wishes of a dying Cubs fan on his death bed, wishing a full funeral procession at Wrigley, despite becoming completely disillusioned with the team.
