Is it just me or am I going to be waiting for a while before I see the World Heavyweight Title around the waist of Cody Rhodes?

The son of a son of plumber has worked his way up the chain as one of the best in the WWE right now and for the future.

While he is still learning his craft, you can see the fire burn and the improvement from as little as a few months ago.

All this from the third member of Legacy who we all thought would be a flop and someone like a Ted DiBiase Jr. would pass him by faster than eight seconds on a bull.

5. He Works Well with Contemporaries and Veterans in the Company

Recently, he has been involved in an angle with Booker T,  which has been solid for both wrestlers.

Rhodes also works well in angles involving Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan and Ted DiBiase. He would look good or sell well for other WWE superstars.

Rhodes has the "It" factor much like Orton did when he came to the company and, while we did not see it at first, the creative team and business executives knew he had it when he signed with the WWE.

4. Great Bloodlines

He is the son of Dusty Rhodes and the brother of Dustin Rhodes, AKA Goldust.

How could he not be successful.

Dusty was a three-time NWA world champion. Goldust was one of the best in the WWF during the "Attitude Era".

While he acts at times like a "Goldust character," he is very true to mat wrestling and the roots instilled in the old NWA.

3. He Is Great as a Singles Champion or a Tag Team Champion

When Rhodes started in the WWE, he was a tag team champion with Bob Holly and later with Ted DiBiase, Jr.

When Legacy disbanded, he became a solid wrestling beast. He is the current Intercontinental Champion and is looking to move toward the main event and challenge for the World Title. It is only a matter of time.

But he could also be involved in revitalizing the tag team division.

2. He Is Actually a Throwback to Past Champions

Great on the mic. Great on the mat and a heel fans can really sink their teeth into.

Think of him as a young Greg Valentine. He can do it all and whether it is wrestle, brawl or sell, Rhodes makes it a point to be hated by all.

1. Room to Grow

He is young and will undoubtedly learn more as he goes along.

And he will get better and better.

Can he be a long-term WWE Champion or hold the World Title? Who knows, but he has been the Intercontinental Champion for five months, which is impressive since the WWE Title and the World Title continue to change hands like a hot potato.

He could be the face of the company (even as a heel) for years to come.
