It's all about recruiting now that the college football season is over with. The BCS National Championship is over, so now teams are preparing to better their future.

One of the top prospects that is still out there is wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. He has ridiculous size at 6'6", 220 pounds. He towers over defenders and can make any play on the field. He's the ultimate deep threat and will make some team very lucky when he makes his commitment.

He's considering Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and USC, among others.

While it seems like every school is still in the running because he's keeping everything close to the vest. Oklahoma seems to be one of the schools that have a lot of advantages over the others.

Here's a few reasons why the nation's top wide receiver prospect will likely become a Sooner.

Start Right Away

Green-Beckham is the type of talent that will likely hit the field quickly regardless of which school he ends up with. But with the Sooners, he'd instantly become the go-to guy and would become a starter right away.

With Ryan Broyles and Dejuan Miller on their way out, the Sooners need that No.1 guy to step in and, of course, that would be Green-Beckham. Other schools he's considering like Texas, Arkansas and USC already have talented receivers to throw the ball to.

Oklahoma would offer him the chance to contribute in a big way from day one.

This advantage may only be for one season, but it's an advantage that very few of the other schools he's considering have. Landry Jones is a top quarterback, despite having a poor season this year. He's a senior quarterback that is capable of making all of the throws and helping the 5-star prospect develop.

Having a high caliber quarterback like Jones will only help Green-Beckham in the long run and improve his game throughout his career. It's also a much better situation than some of these other teams' options at quarterback.

National Championship Possibilities

Despite the season that the Sooners had this year, they will always remain national championship contenders the next year. They are always an extremely talented team, that recruits well and has one of the top coaches in the country. Winning should always be one of the top things on a prospect's mind and it doesn't get much better than Oklahoma.

At the very least, they should be the favorite to win the Big 12 as that conference is losing a ton of star power this season. A lot of teams are going to be rebuilding this season, which gives Oklahoma another advantage heading into next year.

There are only a couple of schools that you can say are championship contenders. Oklahoma is one of them.

Close to Home

If you look at majority of the schools Green-Beckham is considering, a lot of them are close to his home town in Missouri. Which obviously means he doesn't want to get home sick and wants to remain close to where his heart is. Oklahoma fits the bill as it's less than 500 miles away.

There are other schools on his list that are further in distance like USC, Florida and even LSU just to name a few.

You have to think he's going to pick a school that's nearby and with Oklahoma being a short flight away, that gives them more than a solid chance to land a top receiver.
