Kentucky Basketball: Freshman Wins $10,000 on Half-Court Shot Thanks to Protest
Thanks to a sweet stroke and some love from the famously loyal Big Blue Nation, Kentucky freshman Vincent Swope will be awarded the $10,000 he deserves, according to Yahoo's Dagger Blog.
Swope drained a half-court shot during halftime of Saturday's game between Kentucky and South Carolina. After swishing it, he resisted the urge to bust out the Antoine Walker shimmy, opting instead for a victory lap around Rupp Arena.
However, his happiness was crushed when a representative from the Kroger supermarket chain told him he might not receive the money because his toe was over the line.

Heisman finalist makes history after going undrafted
This set off an outrage on Twitter, led by Kentucky Sports Radio founder Matt Jones.
Within an hour, the hashtag #OccupyKroger was blowing up. Two dedicated Wildcat fans even protested the old-fashioned way, by making signs and standing in front of a Kroger in Ashland, Ky.
Not wanting a public relations nightmare, a Kroger representative called Swope immediately to tell him he would receive the money after all.
Plenty of people deserve some credit in this odd event: Matt Jones for bringing this to the attention of the public, Big Blue Nation for supporting the kid and the people at Kroger who eventually made the right decision.
Most importantly, props to Swope for not only making the shot but for also not punching the guy who told him he wouldn't get paid.
For the record, his toe was over the line, but who cares? He buried that shot—now give him his change.
