Shawn Marion really loves him some Kobe.

His feelings toward Kobe Bryant? Don't ask me on that one because I haven't the slightest clue, but the Dallas Mavericks forward does love him Kobe beef, and rightfully so because it costs in the hundreds of dollars for just one pound of it.

A meat that expensive better be something you love almost as much as winning a championship.

Marion is hosting a welcome-to-Dallas dinner for some of his new teammates. Lamar Odom, Delonte West and Vince Carter are the main guests, and oh yeah, Khloe Kardashian will be there as well.

She's not a new teammate, but if needed, she could probably crash the boards on occasion.

This star-studded event takes place at Marion's 12,600 square foot mansion, according to TMZ.

Marion will be serving fried lobster, absinthe cocktails and Kobe beef, along with other items from Khloe and Lamar's wedding.

There's a chance that putting Kobe beef on the menu is a slap towards Bryant, but then again, it's one of the most delicious meats out there, so it may not have crossed their mind.

Still, with Odom coming from the Los Angeles Lakers, being traded even though he would've preferred to stay, people are going to put two and two together when eating the Kobe beef.

If anything, it'll get a good chuckle out of those attending, and life will move on.

This is a great gesture for Marion, who is starting his third season with the Mavericks. The TMZ report states the party with be on January 26th, which is an off night for Dallas.

It's also during a four-game homestand, which makes things easier for the players. Having to travel the day after this party wouldn't be a wise idea.

But playing basketball the next night at home is no worry at all. Unless, of course, everyone gets a little too crazy. However, feasting on Kobe beef, they'll all likely be passed out by 11.

Oh, maybe that's me.
