WWE: Will We See Chris Jericho vs. The Rock One More Time?

With Chris Jericho's return to Raw last night and The Rock's vow to never leave the WWE again, it seems likely that their paths will cross sometime in the next year.

Jericho and the Rock have always had great chemistry together in the ring. But will we see one more Jericho vs. Rock match in the WWE?

Although The Rock is occupied with Cena until WrestleMania, I highly doubt that it will be the last time we see the Great One in a high-profile match. Sure, he is on a part-time schedule, but the desire to perform for the WWE fans has obviously returned for the Rock, and it does not seem to be going away anytime soon.

Chris Jericho, on the other hand, is back for what is most likely the final run of his career. At 41, we might see Y2J around for another couple of years or so until he decides to hang up his boots. While Jericho is always open for putting over new stars, a great sense of nostalgia would kick in if he tangled with The Rock.

During the end of 2001, it seemed like Jericho and The Rock were battling almost every PPV, and each encounter was better than the previous bout. They brought out the best in each other, much like Rock vs. Austin and Jericho vs. HBK.

Would one more match or feud between the two over a decade later be entertaining? Given the shape both men are in, a great match can definitely happen. Taker and HBK were both older than these men, and they delivered two classics at the biggest PPV of the year.

On top of this, the promo work between two of the best would be fantastic. Take a look at this clip of Rock and Y2J going back and forth with little Michael Cole stuck in the middle. Both are golden on the mic, and they are even better when going at each other.

It will be very interesting to see where Chris Jericho's new gimmick takes him. It looks as if he will transition into a heel, but will he be the suit-wearing man using big words and calling the fans hypocrites? Chances are he will vary that somewhat, but nonetheless, it will be a fresh look.

Put him and the Rock in the same ring, and even in 2012, both men will deliver.
