Tampa Bay Buccaneers Begin Raheem Morris Termination Watch

Tom EdringtonJun 7, 2018

Raheem Morris says he's going to work today, he's going to fix this mess he got the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into.

He says he'll be there at One Buccaneer Place, working until someone tells him to stop.

Perhaps someone needs to pull him aside and give him the old Lee Corso: "Not so fast, my friend..."

Perhaps someone needs to duct tape him to a chair and make him watch the first half of Sunday's game in Atlanta, over and over and over again. Then someone should ask him politely: "Coach Morris, who is this team's defensive coordinator?"

Most of all, it's simply time to bring an end to Rah-Hour. Sunday was the last Hoooo-Rah. More like, sorry Rah.

Head coaches in the NFL make the big bucks because, basically, when things go wrong, the buck stops with them. In the case of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Bucs stopped with Morris.

They stopped playing "for him." They told us how much they love him. Don't those goobs in the locker room see what a mess this has become under the command of Raheem Morris?

If Morris is allowed back at work today, maybe the first thing he should do is bring in the entire squad and apply electric shock therapy—a lot of it, and add himself to the patient list as well.

The Glazer brothers gave Jon Gruden the boot because they did not like the direction his team was heading. You wonder how they like the direction Morris has taken this team.

This just wasn't any 10-game losing streak. This was the worst stretch of football in franchise history. It wasn't the losses, it was the fact the team simply refused to show up week after week. It's not like they were getting blown out by great teams—look at the Jacksonville and Carolina games.

When you look at the entire NFC South, it's obvious this Buccaneer team simply cannot compete.

The Bucs are not in the same universe as the Saints. They are not in the same solar system as the Falcons, and the Carolina Panthers showed us a team can have a losing record and still be exciting. How can Cam Newton be a Rookie of the Year prospect without organized team activities and limited training camp?

Guess that blows the hell out of that theory that limited prep time hurt this team.

The problem is that once Morris and his staff got cranking, after the fast 4-2 start, they couldn't make the team any better. In fact, they made it worse, incredibly worse.

Whoever the Turk is during training camp for these Bucs, he needs to approach Morris either today, tomorrow of the next day and deliver this message:

"Uh, Rah, the owners want to see you and, yeah, bring your playbook."
