Report: Bryn Forbes Waived by Timberwolves After Trade with Lakers, Jazz

After acquiring Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker in a three-team trade that also sent D'Angelo Russell to the Lakers and Russell Westbrook to the Jazz, the Minnesota Timberwolves decided to waive guard Bryn Forbes in order to make space on their roster, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

Forbes, who signed with the Timberwolves in July, has played in just 25 games so far this season and is averaging 10.7 minutes per game, the lowest since his rookie year with the San Antonio Spurs in 2016.

Forbes will now look to land with his third team in just over a year. He was traded from the Spurs to the Denver Nuggets in January 2022.

Over the course of his career, Forbes has been a more-than-reliable three-point shooter, borderline lethal at times. He's shot over 38 percent from beyond the arc in seven of his nine seasons in the NBA.

The 29-year-old was a part of the Milwaukee Bucks championship team in 2021 and was a solid contributor averaging 10 points per game that year on 45% shooting from three-point range.

He'll look to land somewhere where he can earn more consistent playing time.

Meanwhile, Minnesota is now able to accommodate their two new, high-quality guards Conley and Alexander-Walker, who will be immediate contributors to a Timberwolves team in need of a spark. Minnesota is currently sitting eighth in a loaded Western Conference.
