Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles organization owes the entire city of Philadelphia and any sap silly enough to buy tickets or merchandise a serious apology. Me included.

They got their apology when Vick told local reporters that he felt terrible about how the season went down. As he should.

With a possible victory over the Washington Redskins Sunday, the Eagles would move to 8-8 on the season and will miss the playoffs. This is heartbreaking for a team that was talked about as Super Bowl favorites before the season kicked off.

Vick told Philadelphia Sports Daily about the disappointment of the 2011 season and how the team sympathizes with the fans:

We’re all going through it together. We want to win just as bad as they want us to. Just certain things didn’t happen the way we wanted them to; this is where the chips fell. We’re all disappointed, we wish it could be better and the outcome could be different, but we apologize and hopefully will get them what they want very soon.

Will Andy Reid and Michael Vick Be Back in 2012?

With all of the money that the Philadelphia Eagles are charging their fans for seats and merchandise, there better be a championship run next season or heads will roll.

I’m not saying that the Eagles have to win the Super Bowl next season, but Philadelphia ownership needs to make it abundantly clear that in order for Reid to retain his job, the team needs to make the NFC Championship game.

With a $100 million quarterback and several other big-name free agents becoming duds, the team better figure it out fast or there will be a mass exodus from the Philadelphia organization.

A forced exodus.
