Rivals Football Recruiting: Where Do The Top 10 Recruits Stand on Signing Day?

1 of 11

Signing Day is well underway and it's time to take a look at where the top 10 ranked recruits on Rivals stand.

A couple of these players already made their decision, a couple of them made their declarations today and a couple have yet to make their decisions.

Once a player commits, it will shake up the recruiting rankings, so it's not necesarily important where your team is now, but rather wher they are at the end of the day.

I will try and update this list as soon as possible once these recruits make their decisions.

Every recruiting service has their own ranking, and here are Rivals' top ten recruits in the 2011 class.

Be sure to check out where the 100 recruits are headed as well as our live coverage of National Signing Day.

10. Malcolm Brown

2 of 11

School: Signed Letter of Intent with Texas

    Position: RB

    Position Rank: 1

    Vitals: 6'0''/ 220

Overview: Brown should be able to make an impact from day one, and should be a welcome addition to Mack Brown and Texas. This 5-star commit is the reason Texas has a top five class.

9. Ray Drew

3 of 11

School: Signed Letter of Intent with Georgia

    Position: DE

    Position Rank: 2

    Vitals: 6'5''/ 243

Overview: Although the 3-4 may be a new scheme to Drew, it shouldn't affect his playmaking ability. Georgia's defense struggled last year, and he will make an impact starting in 2011.

8. Karlos Williams

4 of 11

School: Signed Letter of Intent with Florida State

    Position: S

    Position Rank: 2

    Vitals: 6'2''/ 210

Overview: Williams leads one of the best recruiting classes in the land. The Seminoles have done a great job of getting the talent in Florida to come to Talahassee and their ranking reflects that. On the football field Williams is a safety/ outside linebacker hybrid and the coachers will have to make a decision on where they want him to play.

7. Hasean Clinton-Dix

5 of 11

School: Signed Letter of Intent with Alabama

    Position: DB

    Position Rank: 1

    Vitals: 6'2''/ 190

Overview: Clinton-Dix has been commited to Alabama since last April and he should be a welcome addition the the Crimson Tide. Depth is important on the defensive side of the ball, so look for Clinton-Dix to make a strong impact.

6. La'El Collins

6 of 11

School: Signed Letter of Intent with LSU

    Position: OL

    Position Rank: 2

    Vitals: 6'5''/ 285

Overview: Games are won in the trenches and the Tigers will get a valuable commit in Collins. At 6-5 and 285 he should have an impact from the beginning and start for this LSU team. He went up against number one prospect Clowney in the Under Armour All American game and they fought some great battles.

5. DeAnthony Thomas

7 of 11

    School: Committed to USC

    Position: ATH

    Position Rank: 1

    Vitals: 5'9''/ 160

Overview: Thomas is one of the premier athletes in the country and he one of USC's top recruits for the 2011 class. This is the Trojans second pickup in the top five, which is quite impressive with the penalties that they are facing. It isn't know what position Thomas will play, but he will make an impact for the USC football program.

Update: Thomas will announce his college decision at 8:00 p.m. E.T. and the latest reports have him leaving USC for Oregon.

4. Cyrus Kouandjio

8 of 11

    School: Committed to Auburn

    Position: OT

    Position Rank: 1

    Vitals: 6'7''/ 322

Overview: Cyrus should be able to make an immediate impact from day one at offensive tackle. Football games are won in the trenches and Kouandjio will help Auburn win football games next fall. At 6'7'' and 322 pounds he should start in game one.

Update: Numerous reports indicate Kouandjio will not sign his letter of intent today, so while he announced for Auburn, this one isn't settled yet.

3. George Farmer

9 of 11

    School: Committed to USC

    Position: WR

    Position Rank: 1

    Vitals: 6'2''/ 192

Overview: USC can't afford to miss on any prospects, and picking up the third overall recruit will have a great impact on that program. They have to do the best with what they got, and the Trojans got a playmaker in Farmer. Because he is a wide receiver, look for him to start in the fall.

Update: Farmer has yet to sign his letter of intent, though there are no reports to suggest that he won't do so.

2. Curtis Grant

10 of 11

School: Signed Letter of Intent with Ohio State

    Position: LB

    Position Rank: 1

    Vitals: 6'3''/ 222

Overview: At 6-3 and 222 Grant is a dominant football player and he should make an impact in Columbus, Ohio. He just picked the Bucketes over Florida, North Carolina and Virginia.

1. Jadeveon Clowney

11 of 11

School: Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, LSU

    Position: DE

    Position Rank: 1

    Vitals: 6'6''/ 247

Overview: The No. 1 overall prospect in the nation has decided to delay his announcement until February 14. This date also happens to be his birthday.

He is not only the best defensive end prospect in the country, but he is also the best overall prospect According to Rivals, he is a blue-chip prospect in all five individual aspects of his game: speed, size, strength, agility and lateral pursuit.

There isn't a strong indication on where Clowney will go, but one thing is for sure: He will make an immediate impact for whatever team he decides to go to.

Update: Clowney was scheduled to announce his commitment today, but decided to hold off until his birthday on Feb. 14 to make a final decision.
