Lamar Dawson Announcement: What It Means For USC Football
Lamar Dawson has announced Tuesday that he will be signing his National Letter of Intent with the University of Southern California.
He picked the Trojans over Kentucky, Tennessee and Oregon.
Dawson is a 4-star MLB and the ninth-ranked MLB in the country, according to Scout.com.
The Trojans are getting a playmaker that can step in from day one and make an impact on this Trojan team. While he may not start, he could certainly add depth to the Trojans defense.
According to Scout.com, he "plays fast without playing reckless. A pure football player that's good on both sides of the ball."
The Trojans can't afford to miss out on a prospect with their current penalties that stem from the Reggie Bush saga.
With a limited number of recruits, every single player that they sign needs to be a star. With Lamar Dawson, they are getting that player.
The Trojans come into the day with a top-10 recruiting class, and with this addition, that ranking should hold steady, but the day isn't over for them yet.
They are also in the running for 5-star safety Marqise Lee, 5-star DT Delvon Simmons and 4-star OT Troy Nicklas. Many other top-tier players are also considering the Trojans.
