Boise State Football: Finally Some Props from the SEC

“That quarterback is very good. He throws that ball like he’s got a baseball in his hand. He’s got a real quick release and he just flicks it here and flicks it there. He knows where everybody is. He’s hard to sack. He’s just really a good player. You just have to admire watching those guys play. I love watching them play because they block, they tackle well, they play fundamentals, they are just about always in position, they don’t do stupid things. They just play the game the way you are supposed to. I may vote them No. 1 in the country after watching them beat Georgia . . . Maybe after watching Boise State play all week will allow our guys to see how you’re supposed to play this game.” - South Carolina Coach Steve Spurrier

That is a pretty bold statement from an SEC coach. All but snubbing two other SEC teams (Alabama and LSU) that are currently ahead of Boise State in the polls. 

I would not be surprised at all to see some number one votes for the Broncos this week, but I highly doubt its is enough to move them past number four. 

His comments on Kellen Moore are definitely deserved, but remember this is also coming from a coach that has an impressive quarterback of his own in Stephen Garcia and faces top-notch QB's week in and week out.  Praise for the entire team like this should not be taken lightly, and maybe the SEC is starting to stand up and recognize.  

With that being said, I for one am glad for the praise from another SEC Coach aimed at Boise State. At least one we haven't just beaten.  But with all due respect for Coach Spurrier, the Broncos are going to need you to lose to Georgia this weekend in order to help the Boise State cause.
