Edwin WeathersbyJun 5, 2018

There's a ton of rumblings coming out of St. Peterberg, Florida where the 2011 Under Armour All-American Game will take place on Wednesday night, featuring some of high school football's top players in the country and in this year's recruiting class.

Take a peek inside so we can update you on who's been dominating practices, some surprises and some recruiting updates on top players.

La'El Collins Injures Ankle and Reaffirms Commitment

1 of 10

Collins has suffered an ankle injury and has sat out recent workouts, though he's still in line to see time on Wednesday night.

Also Bayou Tiger fans, do not worry, Collins has stated he's very solid in his pledge to LSU.

Clinton-Dix and Williams Both Standing Out at Safety

2 of 10

Both of the defenders from Florida are proving why they are among the very top safety prospects in the country.

Williams has shown linebacker size with defensive back athleticism. He's been displaying great range in coverage and has been intimidating receivers coming across the middle.

Clinton-Dix has shown he can cover not only tight ends, but also receivers aligned in the slot. In zone coverage, he's also shown he can get off the hashes faster than anybody.

QBs Getting More In Sync with Receivers

3 of 10

In any all-star game, timing and communication takes time to get on the same page, especially on the offensive side of the ball. On Day 1, QBs and receivers for both squads looked out of sorts.

As workouts have continued, and reps have been cranked up, Kendall Thompson, Max Wittek and Devon Blackmon are all finding success in the passing game for their teams.

Bellamy Has Made It Visibly Known He's Arrived To Compete

4 of 10

Mike Bellamy is headed to Clemson and is a star running back. So everything is fine right?

Wrong. Bellamy has been in a serious mood during practices and has been all business. He's proven to be a fierce competitor and is playing like he needs to prove himself. Bellamy was visibly upset that a coach did not throw him the ball in a seven-on-seven drill, and even had a few words for the coach after the play.

Clowney and Townsend Winning One-on-One Drills

5 of 10

Coming into this game, we all heard about how good Jadeveon Clowney was and the stories about his burst and athleticism. Well, it's all true. Clowney has been virtually unblockable in practices so far.

The surprise has been Beverly Hills (California) defensive end Greg Townsend. Many felt Townsend had been a product of dominating inferior competition and would struggle versus the big boys. Wrong. Townsend has elevated his play and has been a terror off the edge in workouts versus the nation's top offensive linemen.

Westerman to...Troy?

6 of 10

Christian Westerman, hailed as the top right tackle prospect in the country and best run-blocking force in the trenches, has reopened his recruitment.

He initially verballed to Texas, then word broke he was considering Auburn. Now Westerman will visit USC January 13, and the men of Troy look to be a prominent player for the big offensive lineman. Interestingly enough, many felt USC finished second to Texas when Westerman made his initial pledge to the Longhorns.

Shazier and DePriest Excelling in Space

7 of 10

Ryan Shazier, once a Florida pledge and now an Ohio State commit, has gone from mostly lining up at defensive end for his high school team to now playing outside linebacker, his likely position in college.

Trey DePriest has also excelled and impressed with great range and an ability to cover running backs out of the backfield.

Both players have shown to be very athletic defenders with good movement in space to make plays.

Braxton Miller Is Showing To Be Very Decisive with the Ball

8 of 10

Braxton Miller, who may be a key to Ohio State's season next year as Terrelle Pryor will miss the first five games, has people buzzing about his play so far during practices.

Aside from Miller's athletic ability, quickness and ability to throw accurately on the run, Miller has shown that he is very decisive with his reads from the pocket, hitting receivers quick in his drops and on time.

Kouandjio Adjusting as a Pass Protector

9 of 10

Cyrus Kouandjio, a 6-6, 230 pound offensive line prospect from DeMatha (Maryland), played mostly in a run-heavy offense in his high school career.

Kouandjio has always shown the athleticism to be a very good pass protector, and he has used this week to get coached up on the nuances of protecting the quarterback. Coaches have liked his willingness to learn, athletic ability, feet and strength.

HaSean Clinton-Dix down to Two Final Schools

10 of 10

Clinton-Dix has had a very impressive showing in practices so far, and he's proven that he can separate football from recruiting.

Currently committed to Alabama, Clinton-Dix is still mulling his options and is down to Alabama and LSU.

This looks to be an ol' fashioned SEC recruiting battle that could last all the way to signing day. Stay tuned Crimson Tide and Tiger fans.
