College Football's Most Important Offers of the Week
Entering the second month of the season, Michigan is one school that is trending in a positive direction on the field and in recruiting.
The Wolverines currently have the nation’s No. 9 class with 22 prospects already committed.
However, head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff are eager to finish up the 2016 cycle on a strong note.
Last week, the Wolverines offered 3-star defensive end Tomon Fox, according to Steve Lorenz of Wolverine 247.
The 6’3”, 230-pound Georgia native is currently committed to North Carolina.
However, an offer from the Wolverines may cause him to evaluate his options moving forward.
As Lorenz notes, an offer delivered at this stage in the cycle likely means that the interest between the two parties is mutual.
Beefing up the pass rush is one area the Wolverines would like to address down the stretch.
Currently, Michigan has 4-star defensive end pledge Ron Johnson as the only commit at that position.
The next step to watch with Fox’s recruitment will be to see if he makes any visits to schools other than North Carolina in the coming months. If the Wolverines succeed in getting him on campus, they could become a major player in his recruitment moving forward.

Oklahoma Offers 2016 Texas RB
One position Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops and his staff will look to monitor heading into the final months before signing day is running back.
The Sooners have yet to land a running back commitment. Last week, Oklahoma offered 3-star rusher Trevor Speights.
The 5’10”, 200-pounder from McAllen (Texas) Memorial High School is one of the most prolific backs from the Lone Star State. Over the last three years, he’s rushed 6,673 yards and 64 touchdowns.
Stanford, Tennessee and Texas A&M are among the other programs pushing hard for Speights.
2017 ATH Antjuan Simmons Nation’s Most Popular Recruit
Most recruits are lucky to get eight scholarships throughout their entire recruitment.
A week after reeling in three offers, the recruitment of 2017 3-star athlete Antjuan Simmons was raised a few levels.
Last week, Simmons racked up eight offers.
"Extremely blessed to say that I have just received my 15,16 and 17 offer from Penn State, Tennessee & LSU!! pic.twitter.com/9MkL3S0Ewl
— antjuan simmons (@_antjuan_) October 1, 2015"
Included in the spree were the following schools: Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, LSU, Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
Late last month, Simmons hinted that power programs from the SEC and ACC were interested in him.
Given how his recruitment has exploded, Simmons is quickly emerging as one of the nation’s elite talents in the 2017 cycle.
LSU Offers 2017 ACC Pledge
LSU has had some success in recent years going into the state of Florida and plucking elite talents.
Tigers head coach Les Miles and his staff are hoping to do it again the 2017 cycle. Last week, LSU offered 4-star defensive end and current Florida State pledge Vandarius Cowan.
"LSU OFFERED ME TODAY #blessed had to call an make sure pic.twitter.com/eDOynyMWZZ
— Loco Ocho #8 (@vandarius98) September 29, 2015"
The 6’3”, 221-pounder committed to the Seminoles back in June over offers from programs such as Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami and Notre Dame.
However, he has left the door open for other schools by taking visits—which could help the Tigers' chances if he makes it to Baton Rouge in the near future.
