Johnny Manziel Tweets Frustration With Texas A&M

Johnny Manziel's tweet venting frustration reportedly was due to a parking ticket handed to the Texas A&M star. San Antonio Express-News' Brent Zwerneman has the latest:

Texas A&M sophomore quarterback Johnny Manziel’s frustrated Twitter post at 1:38 a.m. Sunday morning claiming it’s “(expletive) like tonight is a reason why I can’t wait to leave college station…whenever it may be,” was over a parking ticket, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, had been fishing in Port Aransas on Saturday and was still on the coast when he talked over the phone to an officer, who wrote him a ticket for being parked the wrong way in front of his house and for his windows being tinted too dark (his vehicle was in College Station while he was with friends in Port Aransas), according to the insider.

Something frustrated the Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner early Sunday morning, as he tweeted the following before deleting it (via Josh Sanchez of Fansided):

Oh boy. This is obviously not what Aggies fans want to see. 

Realizing how his tweet was going to be received after it was picked up by the media on Sunday morning, Manziel responded with the following:

Hey, at least he owned his comments and didn't go with the classic "But I got hacked, you guys!" story. Still, we're left with plenty of questions about why he can't wait to leave Texas A&M. 

ESPN college football analyst Mark May gave Manziel a piece of advice on how to manage his Twitter account in the future following the outburst. 

Manziel was phenomenal in 2012, accumulating more than 5,000 yards from scrimmage and accounting for 47 total touchdowns. He was the first freshman in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy and became a star with his exciting, run-oriented style of play. 

Off the field, Manziel made headlines last summer when he was arrested after being involved in a fight and possessing a fake ID. Following his incredible first-year campaign, he found himself in the news once again after pictures surfaced of the 20-year-old on TMZ partying in a Texas club with what looked to be a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne. 

Manziel is far from the first underage college kid to go out partying, but you also get the sense he is having a hard time reconciling his desire to be a normal college kid with the spotlight that follows him and publicizes his every move. 

Like it or not, once you become a star athlete, your personal life becomes public domain. It may not be fair, but that's just how it is. Calling out his university through a social media outlet like Twitter is not the way Manziel should be airing out his frustrations.
