Top 200 College Football Recruits for Class of 2014

An elite running back, four talented defensive backs, a versatile athlete who may wind up in the secondary, two potentially dominant pass-rushing defensive ends, an NFL-sized offensive tackle and a mammoth defensive tackle populate the top 10 in Bleacher Report's list of the nation's top 200 recruits.

There are no quarterbacks or wide receivers ranked that high. But several are sprinkled throughout the rest of the list. The wide receiver position is especially rich in talent, with several of the wideouts having the potential to be the kind of sleeper prospects every program seeks.

And you can go 10 deep in the running back rankings and still find a player who has the potential to be a great back at the Division I level. 

So there's a lot to look forward to in the 2014 class of recruits, as this list makes abundantly clear.

Garrett Brumfield is the No. 5 offensive guard recruit in the nation. He has the size and fundamentals to become a great offensive lineman at the college level.

He plays with good leverage and pad level, so that makes up for what could be considered a lack of size at just 272 pounds. He is quick, though, and that's key to guard play. He explodes out of his stance and has quick feet which allow him to get the angle at the line of scrimmage or get to the second level.

Dillon Bates is the No. 5 outside linebacker in the class. He's also the son of former Tennessee Volunteers defensive back Bill Bates, who played 15 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. Naturally, Tennessee is the top team on Dillon's interest list (247Sports).

Bates is a rangy outside linebacker with good speed and athleticism. He can also take on a lead blocker on the edge, force the run outside, keep his outside shoulder free and make a play as a spill defender. He'll be comfortable in space, and he should be adept in pass coverage. He's a playmaker and a ball hawk. 

98. Bentley Spain

Spain is an agile offensive tackle recruit who projects to be a great pass-blocker. He has a solid base, quick feet and can stay in front of defenders. Because of his size, he should also be able to push the line of scrimmage and be a good run-blocker.

Cameron Denson has been committed to Arizona since January of 2013. He's the No. 5 player from the state, and you'll find highlights of him at cornerback, quarterback and wide receiver in high school.

The skills that will translate are his elite quickness, footwork and vision. He's a great straight-line runner, so he'll be able to recover quickly on vertical routes. He also has soft hands and good length, which means he can make plays in coverage. 

96. Alex Bars

Alex Bars is an offensive tackle recruit with good size and potential, and he's committed to Notre Dame. For as big as he is, Bars can move and be a factor in the open field.

He'll be effective at coming down and blocking linebackers, and he can also pull and kick out at a high level. His quickness also helps him as a pass-blocker. He can move his feet and stay in front of defenders. 

95. Jalen Brown

Jalen Brown is a wide receiver with good height and length who also runs great routes. That's not even factoring in his ability to extend and go up and get the ball, or his straight-line speed. With his quick feet, Brown can take a short or intermediate route and pick up yards after the catch.

Where Brown most stands out is with his physicality. He's going to be a solid blocker at the college level, and that's an underrated trait. 

94. Cameron Sims

Cameron Sims may only be the No. 14 wideout in the 2014 class, but he has star potential. He has good size and runs a 4.60 40. That's not exceptionally fast, but that speed combined with his height could make him very effective. Sims can be a pure deep threat.

He uses his hands well to get separation off the line or in his route, and his height allows him to go up and "high point" the football. He has good extension and great leaping ability, so he should be an effective red-zone target at the college level. He can also take a shorter route and pick up valuable yards after the catch, as he's deceivingly shifty.

Alabama is the leader on his interest list. 

93. Zach Whitley

Zach Whitley is the No. 5 inside linebacker in the nation. Whitley has good lateral quickness, so he'll be able to defend plays to either edge as well as both the "A" and "B" gaps.

He can fight through the wash, scrape over blocks and make a play in the alley, but he can also get downhill and meet a blocker or runner at the point of attack. Whitley has enough speed and athleticism to be a capable blitzing linebacker at the college level.

If you look at Denzel Ware's 247Sports profile page, you'll see that there's no ranking information on him, but what's listed here was what was previously found on that page. He recently transferred schools, according to Josh Edwards of Catspaws.com on Twitter.

Ware has great size for a weak-side defensive end, and he's also very lanky. He has an explosive first step and uses his hands well to combat the blocker. He's a pure athlete who will be effective in pursuit coming down to the line of scrimmage, but he'll also play strong and take on blockers.

He may have some of the best hands of any weak-side defensive end in the class. Ware is a former Kentucky commitment, according to Scott Anderson of NationofBlue.com.

His subtle movements plus his speed make him a deep threat, but he's also elusive and can make defenders miss on short routes. His height and route-running abilities will make him a great option in the red zone. He is also an effective kick returner.

He also has the speed to come off the edge and dip his shoulder as a pass-rusher or chase down the play from the outside. He does a great job of getting off blocks and making plays in the gap.

Frazier has great strength and a good bull rush, but he can also rip off the block or double-team and make a play on the ball-carrier. He'll maintain gap integrity at the college level, and offenses will have to plan around him.

Nine experts in the 247Sports Crystal Ball believe Frazier will choose Arkansas; one predicts Alabama.

Holmes projects to be an elite pass-rusher at the college level. He has decent size, but where he stands out is with his explosion. He has a quick first step and was consistently in the backfield in his highlights.

He uses his hands well and can control the gap and get after the quarterback. He can be a good defensive end in a 4-3 system or a great outside linebacker in the 3-4.

87. Josh Malone

He has excellent straight-line speed and can go up and snatch the ball while it's still at its highest point. Malone presents mismatches against slower, smaller cornerbacks at the college level.

Smart defenses will keep a safety over the top of Malone. But if he's utilized correctly, he can be a great wideout. He can also be a kick returner, but he projects best as an offensive playmaker.

Nathan Starks was dismissed from school for violating schools rules, according to Ray Brewer of the Las Vegas Sun, so his recruiting process features more questions than answers.

Per the report from Brewer, Starks won't be able to play high school football in the state of Nevada due to a Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association transfer rule. "It’s unclear where he’ll play in 2013, but it won't be in Nevada," said Donnie Nelson, the assistant director for the NIAA.

That's bad news for Starks, because he has a ton of potential. He still could play out of state. He's ranked as the No. 5 athlete in the nation and can play either running back or safety.

He projects best as a running back, as he has good size and runs a 4.46 40. He'll be effective between the tackles and can be a power runner. He runs with a forward lean, runs low to the ground, lowers his shoulder on contact and keeps churning his legs.

He also has the speed to beat defenders on the edge and has a great cut move. He can change directions instantly and explode through a new running lane. 

85. Demarre Kitt

Kitt can run himself open, and then he has the second burst of speed to create separation. He can play wide or in the slot, though it's hard to deny the matchup problems he'll be able to create as a slot receiver. He'll be a good safety valve, but he can also make something happen after the catch. 

84. Lamont Gaillard

He's big, but he has the quickness to shoot the A-gap and get into the backfield and make a play. He's explosive, uses his hands well to rip off blockers and has the strength to maintain his gap integrity against a double-team.

The top team on Gaillard's 247Sports interest list is Georgia, and all 16 experts in his 247Sports Crystal Ball picked the Bulldogs. 

83. Malkom Parrish

He also reads the run well and will fly down to the line of scrimmage to make a play, so he fits Alabama's scheme perfectly.

He runs with long strides, is athletic and can change direction quickly courtesy of an efficient cut move. He has good hands and can extend and make tough grabs. Thompson will also be a vertical threat because of the combination of his height, speed and athleticism.

His height allows him to "high-point" the ball, which will make him a great option in the red zone. He also has the quickness and agility to line up in the slot and terrorize linebackers and safeties.

His recruitment seems pretty wide open at the moment. 

79. Drew Barker

If Quinn is utilized correctly, he could end up being a future star. He's a natural vertical threat, but he could be extremely effective in the slot against slower linebackers. The top team on his interest list is LSU, and the experts went 9-of-9 in favor of the Tigers in the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions.

77. Derick Roberson

As a runner, he's shifty, displays good vision and has a good cut move. He's also fast enough to outrun defenders to open space.

For as big as he is, he's surprisingly quick and agile. Clark can be effective in pursuit and can be a 1-technique in a 4-3 or a nose tackle in a 3-4 defense.

He'll be a good blocker downfield, but he also projects to be able to stay home and set the edge as a blocking tight end.

Shaw can maintain his gap integrity and will demand double-teams at the college level. For as big as he is, he's also very quick and displays an explosive first step and punch. He can get off the block and make a play against the run. He can shoot the gap right off the snap.

Shaw shows good hustle and can chase a play down and make a tackle downfield, which is impressive considering his size.

Ross Pierschbacher is the No. 5 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 1 recruit from the state of Iowa. He's been committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes since January of 2013.

Pierschbacher is a strong offensive tackle who has the potential to be dominant at the line of scrimmage at the college level.

He has an explosive first step and sets up his block with a good knowledge of angles and leverage. He's quick enough to get to the second level and can block well downfield in open space. He'll be able to set the edge on outside runs.

He has a quick first step and isn't afraid to fly down to the point of attack and make a big hit. Morgan is also athletic and agile enough to be capable in coverage. He is the No. 4 inside linebacker, and he has the potential to be just as talented as the three before him.

Jones is a big, strong offensive lineman who's explosive out of his snap, gets a good punch on the defender and drives his feet until the whistle. He plays with good bend and establishes a low pad level. He's also agile enough to move to the second level or pull as a lead blocker.

Taylor has great agility and quickness for being such a big player, and that will allow him to effectively pull or chip off to the next level and wall off a linebacker. As a pass protector, he has a balanced base and moves his feet well.

Mixon has good vision and can make one cut and establish a new running lane. He has that second gear in the open field and can be used as a receiver out of the backfield. He is strong enough to break through arm tackles, and he'll be an effective college runner.

Harris will be able to go up and make a play on the ball with his soft hands. He will be good vertically, but he can also take a short route and make something out of it. He has good vision as a runner, makes quick, sharp cuts and changes direction quickly.

Deshaun Watson is a Clemson commitment, and he's not planning on changing that.

Here's what he had to say about his commitment in late April, per Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal Constitution: “I’m 100 percent solid with Clemson. I’m not going to visit anybody else. I’m just going to focus on Clemson and my high school season. I’m not interested in going to visit anywhere. I’ve been thinking about it a lot. I talked to my mom, and she said it was fine with her.”

Watson is the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the 2014 class. He has good size, but he also has top-notch speed (4.65 40).

He's a strong runner who gets downhill quickly, but he also has an effective cut move and displays solid vision. As a quarterback, he has a strong arm and can zip the ball in on a line. He has good pocket poise and footwork. He appears to go through his throwing reads before he decides to run. 

42. David Cornwell

Cornwell's size allows him to stand strong in the pocket and helps him find passing lanes. He has one of the stronger arms in the 2014 class and is very accurate. He can throw a nice deep ball with touch and accuracy, but he can also zip the ball into tight windows.

Cannon is a receiver with great body control and athleticism. He'll be able to make tough catches in traffic, and he displays excellent leaping ability and concentration. For being a vertical threat, he's also elusive and can make defenders miss after the catch.

He makes contact and drives his feet. He displays knowledge of how to set up his block, as well as how to give his runner a running lane. Smith can get downfield and into the second level as a blocker, and he has a strong base and leverage as a pass-blocker.

39. Will Grier

Will Grier is a top-notch quarterback recruit who's been committed to the Florida Gators since December 2012. He's the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the 2014 class. Grier has a very strong arm, but he also has good touch and accuracy.

He displays good pocket presence and steps into his throws. He's also agile and able to move around in the pocket. And even though he's not ranked as a dual-threat quarterback, he will be a threat to take off and run when the play breaks down.

Like some of the best quarterbacks in the game, he should be able to set himself apart with his ability to make accurate throws on the run. 

38. Tre’ Williams

Williams follows his reads and can run the lane and make a hard hit on the ball-carrier going either right or left. He'll be comfortable dropping back into the middle of the coverage in open space, and he is effective at baiting the quarterback into throwing a bad pass. Williams is also a strong tackler and will cause turnovers.

37. Gerald Willis

While some have projected the 6-foot, 170-pound prospect on defense, the Irish see a wide receiver."

Quick projects to be a viable option at wide receiver. He's a lanky wideout with long strides, has good footwork and excels at getting separation from the defender. He could also be utilized as a kick returner, where his long strides, vision and patience make him very effective. 

35. Clifton Garrett

Garrett plays an extremely physical brand of football. He's a prototypical "downhill" linebacker. He has a quick first step and is strong enough to be explosive at the point of attack. He can take on lead blockers, but he's also fast enough to scrape over blocks and fill a running lane.

Adams is a tough safety who will be effective against both the run and the pass. He has good speed and is rangy in coverage. He displays solid footwork and can quickly break back to the ball. He can also run the lane and set the edge against the run, and he's a strong hitter. 

33. Racean Thomas

Thomas is an extremely elusive back who can run himself out of a crowd. He has a good stiff arm and an excellent spin move, but he can also change direction instantly. He's also fast, so he's really a complete back. Thomas has almost unlimited potential. 

32. Malachi Dupre

Dupre has good concentration and soft hands. He's quick enough to beat defenders vertically and runs crisp, deceiving routes that allow him to create separation.

He has the potential to be the best receiver in the class if he's utilized and coached correctly. LSU is the leader on his interest list, but he did pick up a notable offer from Alabama in early May. 

31. Myles Garrett

Myles Garrett is the No. 2 weak-side defensive end in the 2014 class. He has the needed size and runs a 4.70 40.

Texas A&M is listed as the top team on his interest list.

Lattimore is a very good athlete with a fluid backpedal. He can keep his cushion on a route and has the footwork and knowledge of angles that allow him to stay above routes. He has an effective stance and uses his hands well at the line of scrimmage. He'll be effective against both the run and pass. 

29. Edward Paris

Paris can go up and high-point the ball, and he's strong and savvy enough to take the ball away from would-be receivers while it's in the air. He has an effective backpedal and tremendous recovery speed. He can also line up at cornerback and be effective, especially in LSU's defense. 

28. Kentavius Street

Kentavius Street is the No. 1 player from North Carolina and the No. 4 strong-side defensive end in the nation. He's a bit short for a defensive end, but he has good speed, running a 4.75 40.

Street is an effective pass-rusher because of his speed, but he complements that with fundamental moves with his hands. He's adept at coming down the line of scrimmage and making a play from the backside, but he's also disciplined enough to stay home and contain the edge. Street can close down a gap and nullify an out block thanks to his speed.

Georgia is the leader on his interest list, and it will be interest to see how Street's recruitment plays out.

He has strong footwork and poise in the pocket. He can really hurl the ball on a line to his receiver, but he also has a good deep ball that he throws with touch. Chryst is an accurate quarterback with a natural throwing motion. 

26. Malik McDowell

6’7’’, 290 pounds

He's a Michigan lean, but Michigan State is also on his leader board right behind the Wolverines. McDowell has great length and agility, good fundamentals and explosive hands that help him disengage from blockers. His swim move really stands out, and he should be a great pass-rusher at the college level. 

25. John Smith

As a defensive back, he's able to stay over the top of routes and displays good range. He also has a quick break and gets downhill fast, and he's not afraid to be physical and get involved in the running game. 

24. Kc McDermott

23. Ermon Lane

Ermon Lane is the No. 1 wideout in the nation. Nine experts predict he'll end up at Miami, while four predict Alabama.

Here's what Lane had to say about Miami back in mid-April, per Matt Shodell of CaneSport.com: "Well Miami, it's benefiting them because it's my dream school. But I'm keeping everything open at this point."

Lane is a tall wideout who will be a deep threat at the college level. He has above-average speed, runs with long strides and has the leaping ability and athleticism to go up and high-point the ball. He can make a catch in a crowd, especially in jump-ball situations.

He uses his hands well to disengage from jams and get vertical, and he also has good footwork and elusiveness after the catch. He's the most complete wide receiver in this class.

22. Kain Daub

6’3’’, 234 pounds

Kain Daub has tremendous size and great potential as an inside linebacker. He's the No. 2 inside linebacker in the nation, and he's a physical player with good speed and strength.

He can scrape over blocks, run to his spill lane and make a play on the ball-carrier, but he can also play head-up, take on a lead blocker, rip off and control the A-gaps. He'll be a good blitz linebacker, though his first step seems to be a bit inconsistent. 

21. Dalvin Cook

He's an explosive runner with good straight-line speed and vision. He can be elusive, but he's more of a one-cut-and-go runner. He hits the hole hard and runs with a forward lean, always churning his feet. Cook can also be utilized as a receiver out of the backfield.

20. Solomon Thomas

6’3’’, 256 pounds

Solomon Thomas is the No. 2 strong-side defensive end in the nation, and he seems to be a Texas lean at the moment.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball also has him heading to Texas, with all 17 experts predicting that he will end up with the Longhorns. It is worth noting that he has taken a few trips to both Oklahoma (unofficial visit and junior day) and Arkansas (two unofficial visits).

Thomas could end up being the best defensive end from this class. He has great strength and plays with excellent fundamentals. He's able to fight through blocks and move toward the ball, and he uses his hands well to disengage from the block.

He explodes out of his stance, drives and uses good leverage. He can push back the line of scrimmage and will be able to effectively set the edge at the college level.

19. Joseph Yearby

He has good open-field speed, but he can also be a physical runner. He drives his feet on contact, lowers his shoulders and picks up extra yards.

18. Jalen Hurd

He's explosive out of the gate and can run through tackles. He also has great agility and footwork. Hurd can be effective between the tackles, but he can also beat defenders to the edge and outrun them to open space.

He has the potential to be an elite running back. 

17. Hoza Scott

Hoza Scott is the No. 1 outside linebacker in the 2014 class. He's athletic and fast, but he has the size and strength to be a complete linebacker.

He defends the outside with speed and strength, and he'll be able to set the edge and make a tough tackle in open space. He'll also be a good coverage linebacker because of his athleticism.

16. Laurence Jones

Laurence Jones has great size for a safety recruit, and he has equally great potential. He's the No. 2 safety in the 2014 class.

Right now, LSU is listed as the top team for his services.

15. Bo Scarbrough

Because of Alabama's surplus of talented running backs, he could play outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense. But it's hard to ignore the potential he has as a running back.

I don't have a list after that though. I'll have a top three, top five, top eight, top 10—something like that in a couple of weeks."

McMillian is a tough linebacker with sideline-to-sideline range. He can get downhill in a hurry and fill the gap, but he also has the speed to scrape over blocks, run the alley and make a good tackle on the ball-carrier. He'll be comfortable in space dropping back into coverage. 

13. Jalen Tabor

Jalen Tabor is the No. 4 cornerback in the 2014 class. He's a lanky cornerback who plays a physical and disruptive brand of football. He uses his hands to jam receivers, and he has a knack for getting between passing lanes.

Tabor is good in press coverage and flexible enough to open his hips and run. He also has solid recovery speed and acceleration. He's a sure tackler and isn't slow to come up against the run.

Tabor had this to say about Alabama early in May, per Andrew Bone of Rivals.com: "You know I feel great about Alabama. It's my parents' favorite school. That's the only school they talk about. That's not going to play a role in my decision, though."

According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, five experts out of seven predict he'll go to Florida, and the other two predict Florida State. 

12. Damian Prince

6'6'', 300 pounds

Damian Prince is a recruit with immense potential. He has the size, agility and speed to be an elite offensive lineman at the college level. He runs a 5.0 40 and is the No. 2 offensive tackle recruit in the nation.

Prince is an aggressive run-blocker who runs his feet until the whistle, and he plays with good bend and leverage. He also projects to be a great pass-blocker. He has an effective kick-step and gather, and his footwork and quickness allow him to move with the defensive lineman.

As you can see, his recruiting process is still rather wide open at the moment. 

11. Sony Michel

Sony Michel has the potential to be elite. He's fast and can get where he needs in a hurry. He also has tremendous footwork. Michel is elusive in the open field and has the agility to instantly change direction.

For as fast as he is, though, he also displays great power and strength, especially with his stiff arm. Michel is committed to Georgia, picking the Bulldogs over Notre Dame and Miami. He's the No. 2 running back in the 2014 class.

10. Tony Brown

6’0’’, 188 pounds

Tony Brown is the No. 3 cornerback in the 2014 class, but he's also the No. 1 player from the talent-laden state of Texas. He has good size for a cornerback recruit, and he'll stand out because of his speed (4.37 40).

He appears to be an LSU lean, and 22-of-23 experts predicted the Tigers in his 247Sports Crystal Ball. His sister also committed to the LSU track team, so that could be a factor in his recruitment.

Here's what he had to say about that back in February, according to Brian McLaughlin of the Sporting News: "I'm definitely weighing all of my options, and all of them have offered me. Since my sister committed to LSU, I'll evaluate them more than I was before, even though they were already high on my list. I'm not really going to have an early commitment. I won't make it last-second, either."

Brown is an extremely physical cornerback who could probably play safety if he put on more weight. That said, if he were to commit to LSU, he'd be a perfect fit in its scheme. He's a strong, fundamental tackler who excels at setting the edge and sniffing out run plays.

He's comfortable near the line of scrimmage and has good length. He should be able to jam receivers as a corner at the college level, and he'll fight to keep outside contain and squeeze down against edge runs. 

9. Quin Blanding

6’2’’, 200 pounds

Quin Blanding is a huge pickup for the Cavaliers, as he's the No. 1 safety in the 2014 class. Blanding has a good combination of size and speed (4.50 40). He is a true athlete and ball hawk, and he has the speed to stay over the top of routes.

Blanding displays good footwork that allows him to break and jump routes. He's not afraid to come up and play physically against the run, and he runs the backside alley well in pursuit. Blanding is also a strong tackler. 

8. Adoree’ Jackson

Adoree' Jackson appears to be a USC lean. The Trojans are the top team on his interest list, and 12-of-13 experts in the 247Sports Crystal Ball predict he'll end up with USC. He's also lives in Gardena, Calif., which is less than a half-hour away from USC.

He's a small yet quick cornerback with good footwork and athleticism. He's constantly around the football when it's in the air and can flip his hips and run vertically.

Jackson is not afraid to fly up to the line of scrimmage and make a play on a ball-carrier in open space. He'll be an effective slot cornerback right away, but he has the potential to be a starter at either cornerback spot.

7. Andrew Brown

6’4’’, 282 pounds

Andrew Brown is the best defensive tackle in the nation. He's a big player, but he stands out because of his quickness and technique. He uses his hands extremely well to disengage blockers and has a nice swim move. He also has a quick first step and can shoot the gap.

Brown plays strongly against the run and is good at coming down the line of scrimmage, fighting the wash and closing on a play. Virginia is listed as the top team on his interest list, and 23-of-25 experts predicted that he'll choose the Cavaliers.

6. Marlon Humphrey

Marlon Humphrey is the No. 1 cornerback recruit in the 2014 class, and he appears to be an Alabama lean. All 35 experts predicted that will be his choice in the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Humphrey is a physical corner with good instincts and fundamentals. He has an explosive break and can quickly get back to the line of scrimmage to make a play. He also has the speed to turn, run and make a play on a vertical route.

He sets the edge well as a run defender and fights to keep outside containment. He could also be an option as a kick returner, as he displays sound vision and runs with long strides.

Humphrey utilizes the shuffle technique that Nick Saban teaches his cornerbacks at Alabama, so that's another reason to believe that Humphrey and the Crimson Tide are a good fit. 

5. Lorenzo Carter

6’5’’, 232 pounds

Lorenzo Carter has the potential to be a strong pass-rusher at the college level. He runs a 4.60 40, and he's the No. 1 weak-side defensive end in the country.

He has a quick first step and is explosive out of his stance. He turns the corner quickly and has the agility to change angles to adjust to the quarterback's movement in the pocket. Carter is strong enough to set the edge against a tackle or tight end, fight to keep his outside arm free and stretch the play outside.

His recruiting process is still rather wide open, but he did name Alabama and Georgia as programs that will be in his top five, according to Mark Heim of AL.com.

4. Cameron Robinson

6'6'', 330 pounds

Cameron Robinson is the No. 1 offensive tackle recruit, according to the 247Sports Composite, and he has the potential to be elite because of his size alone.

As a run-blocker, he plays with a good forward lean, is explosive out of his stance and uses his hands well to disengage and keep the defender off him. He has the quickness to get to the second level to combat linebackers, and his agility will translate into him being an effective pass-blocker as well.

Robinson's top two consists of LSU and Alabama. His most recent visits have been to Alabama.

3. Jabrill Peppers

Jabrill Peppers is the No. 1 athlete recruit, but he projects to be a stellar cornerback or safety at the college level. He could make the most impact as a corner. He displays great strength and athleticism, and his height and size will give him an advantage.

He'll be able to jam receivers at the line, but he can also turn and run with vertical routes, and he has the agility and skill set to go up on the ball and make a play. Peppers could also play running back, as he's a very strong downhill runner, but that skill will translate to cornerback or safety.

He'll be strong and physical when setting the edge and won't be afraid to make a big tackle in open space.

2. Da’Shawn Hand

6’5’’, 247 pounds

Da'Shawn Hand is the former No. 1 recruit in the class, but he's still the No. 1 strong-side defensive end. He also still possesses tremendous potential.

Hand isn't as big as you'd like just yet, but he has tremendous speed, agility and fundamentals. He uses his hands well to disengage blockers, and he has the speed to be good in pursuit. Hand should also be an effective pass-rusher (4.60 40).

Michigan and Virginia Tech are on top of his interest list. He's had good things to say about all of his visits so far, though it's worth noting that 27-of-36 in his 247Sports Crystal Ball are for Virginia Tech.

1. Leonard Fournette

Leonard Fournette is the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2014. He's an extremely strong runner who's explosive hitting the hole and will run through arm tackles. He'll be excellent in short-yardage situations, and he also has terrific speed and agility.

He displays good vision and can make defenders miss in open space, but he's more likely to run them over. He's fast, yet powerful. He has good vision and can make defenders miss, but he can also put his shoulder down and pick up tough yards. He'll also be able to catch the ball out of the backfield.

Of the 28 experts who offered a prediction, 26 predict Fournette will pick LSU.
