Urban Meyer Ohio State Rumors: Meyer Is Perfect Fit for Buckeyes

Former Florida head coach Urban Meyer has been trending big across the nation, as several head coaching vacancies, including that of the Ohio State Buckeyes, are open.

The Buckeyes program use Urban Meyer, who could help the Buckeyes win games and take the Big Ten by storm.

In a sense, Meyer's resume speaks for itself.

Meyer has a jaw-dropping 103-23 record in 10 seasons as a head coach, while also boasting three National Coach of the Year Awards and a pair of national titles. Led by quarterback Tim Tebow in 2008, the Gators won a national title, giving Meyer his second and most recent national championship of his head coaching career.

Ohio State has struggled to score, while boasting a top-15 defense in the nation. This season, Ohio State is ranked No. 118 in passing yards per game and No. 84 in points per contest with just 24.3 per game.

Meyer would bring to the Buckeyes what they are lacking—a consistent, explosive offense. Meyer has a powerful offensive mind and coached a Gators team that was led by strong quarterback play.

Tebow was arguably one of the best players to ever grace college football.

Instilling a more explosive, versatile offensive game plan at Ohio State will benefit the Buckeyes. In particular, it will benefit the team in the passing game. Known for its rushing game, Ohio State gains more than 200 yards per game.

With such a strong winning background and the ability to give the Buckeyes what they lack, Ohio State unquestionably would get a strong acquisition in hiring Urban Meyer for the job.
