The latest and updated version of the USA Today Poll is out and it is time to talk about the questionable calls made by the pollsters. Or perhaps for once, the great decision they made in the latest rankings?

Texas Tech is coming off a miracle 30 point underdog, just seemingly a few hours ago with their stunning win against the mighty Sooners, 41-38.

So, are the Red Raiders worthy of their latest USA Today ranking at No. 22?

Well, they just knocked off a team that had won 39 in a row at home, which was worth six long seasons. If you can stun the Sooners, you deserve a Top 25 ranking as long as you have a winning record.

Tommy Tuberville has been there done that with Auburn and he was due for a breakthrough victory with Texas Tech. However, nobody had it occurring on the road against Landry Jones' mighty high-octane Sooners.

With Ryan Broyles, Kenny Stills, Landry Jones on the team, the bottom line was that this offense was as talented as any in the nation and they were coming off a victory over Kansas. Though they struggled out of the gates, they smoked them in the second half. This was not the case against the Red Raiders.

This was a six, seven win team going into the season, but they have the makings of a possible eight win team, thanks to sensational quarterback Seth Doege.

His performance in Norman last night will forever be remembered in the heart of Lubbock. Throwing for 441 yards and four touchdowns, on top of rushing for one, is beyond an amazing performance. This was not against a bad defense. In fact the Sooners came in as one of the better defenses in the entire nation ranking in the Top 20.

The Sooners defense was torched for 572 yards and the secondary looked as if they were sleepwalking all night.

It should be noted there was nearly a two-hour delay and the fans of Oklahoma were nearly dead silent since the Red Raiders jumped to a 24-7 halftime lead.

They  then scored right out of the gates in the second half to have a commanding 31-7 lead. Oklahoma did not know what hit them and that was due to Doege and the killer Red Raiders offense. They even managed to run for 120 yards on the night without their top rusher Eric Stephens (out for season).

Tech has Iowa State coming up at home before a road tilt at Austin against the Longhorns. They then host Oklahoma State in what could be a crucial game, since the Cowboys have a chance to run the table and play for a BCS National Championship. The only loss on the season was a close home loss to a very talented Aggies team and at home the following week an unbeaten Kansas State that just outside the top ten.

Doege and the Red Raiders not only have a chance to remain ranked in the coming weeks, but there is no doubt they are deserving of a Top 25 ranking after their memorable road victory at Oklahoma.
