Louisville vs. Rutgers Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: December 4th 2008

Touthouse HandicappersDec 3, 2008

The Louisville Cardinals take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in Big East play on Thursday Evening in what should be a lopsided affair. With just a 5-6 overall record, the Cardinals are in jeopardy to have their first losing season since finishing with a 1-10 record in 1997. Louisville is in this position because of a 4 game losing streak that includes a 35-21 loss to WVU on November 22nd. What is even more surprising about the team’s sub par record this year is that they have played eight of their 11 games at on their home turf, going just 4-4. As for the Rutgers, they are playing good football in the Big East conference as of late having churned out 5 straight winning games. The current win streak has helped the team bounce back from a slow start to the season and has made the team become bowl-eligible for the 4th season in a row. The Knights played last on November 22nd, when they improved their record to 6-5 with a 30-3 rout over Army. Rutgers leads the all-time series with the Cardinals by a record of 5-2, but Louisville has been victorious in two of the three games since joining the Big East conference in 2005.

5dimes.com oddsmakers currently have the Rutgers listed as 10 point betting odds favorites against the Cardinals with the games over/under posted at 51.5 total points
