Florida State Football: Greg Reid Gets Arrested on Two Misdemeanor Charges
When it rains, it pours. Right now it is pouring on the Seminoles.
They can't catch a break these past two weeks. First you blow some golden opportunities to beat Oklahoma, then you make so many uncharacteristic penalties against Clemson and lose that game.
Just when you thought the Seminoles were on the right track, Greg Reid, who was regarded as the team's top corner coming into this season, has been arrested on two misdemeanor counts. The charges include perjury, not in an official proceeding, and resisting arrest, but without violence, this morning.
So much for staying out of the bad limelight.
Truthfully, this doesn't shock me at all even though I don't quite understand these guys. I mean, go figure, the season is already headed in the wrong direction so why not Reid go ahead and get arrested?
What an absolute idiot. If it were me, I'd suspend him for the season. These guys need to learn their lesson and understand that they are regular people despite the fact that they play college football.
Jimbo Fisher has been trying to run a tight ship since becoming the head coach, but this season the team seems a little out of whack. All the unnecessary roughness penalties, Jermaine Thomas being arrested three times because of driving on a suspended license in the offseason and now Greg Reid.
I understand you can't babysit all of your players and some will make some mistakes, but this team seems to have no discipline on or off the field at the moment.
This was supposed to be the season that helped us regain our swagger and be a team that everyone feared to play again. Instead, it has been a season full of injuries, mistakes and blown opportunities.
Hopefully Fisher can wake these guys up and have a "come to Jesus" meeting to set things straight. Don't think you're above the LAW!!! Respect the game, yourself, your teammates and the university you play for or you're done.
