Oregon Football 2011: Are the Ducks Physical Enough for LSU?
The talking heads at College Gameday aren't giving the Ducks enough love in my opinion. Yes, there are some obstacles especially with the loss of some key players. People have graduated, Lache Seastruck was granted his release from the program and, of course, there were some scandals concerning Willie Lyles.
Sports Illustrated asked Kelly if it is a distraction from football to have to deal with all of these issues. Kelly responded calmly and candidly that "...we don't let outside influences govern how we feel or what we do."
Good for you, coach.
This feels like some "muckraking" to me. You know, tossing the crap around for no other reason than a desire to toss crap around. He does still know how to coach doesn't he? Do the players that were in the National Championship last year suddenly have amnesia? What is this nonsense?
I think that LaMicheal James, Kenjon Barner and Darron Thomas will bring it on every down. Of course there has been adversity. That is true. But to say to simply state the Oregon is not physical enough to hang with LSU is ridiculous.
I love Herbstreit and Coach. Who doesn't. I love their pre-games, I love their analysis, they are just fun to watch. I'm just not with you on this one guys. I don't think you go from playing in the championship to wondering how to tackle. As for LSU. Yeah, they are tough. It is Les Miles and LSU.
And what about the LSU controversy guys? The allegation is that starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson and reserve linebacker Josh Johns committed second-degree battery and there are some series issues of big-time crime here. Well, apparently they are physical at LSU. Too bad it's more like assault than football.
I look for the Ducks to be physical enough here, and to manage to not get arrested while doing it. It should be a great game though. It is an excellent start to the season no matter who you are cheering for.
