Michigan Wolverines' 4-Star Target Danny O'Brien Visiting 3 Other Schools
Flint Powers Catholic High School defensive tackleĀ Danny O'BrienĀ (Flint, MI) was the talk of last week's Nike football campĀ The OpeningĀ for his outstanding performance.
Rivals.com recruiting analyst Adam GorneyĀ had nothing but positive thingsĀ to say about O'Brien's intensity Ā at the camp.
"There was nobodyāat any positionāthat was more intense than O'Brien, who brings a level of fearlessness to the field not seen in a while," Gorney posted Tuesday. "When O'Brien puts on a helmet he's tough and mean and gets after it like few players in the 2012 class."
The 4-star defensive tackle, and No. 222 overall prospect according to Rivals.com,Ā said last WednesdayĀ that Michigan and Tennessee would be among his top six schools.
"Michigan and Tennessee have been there from the beginning," O'Brien told Gorney.
On Tuesday, the 6'2", 293 pound prospectĀ revealed two more schoolsĀ likely to make his top six and that he will be making visits to later this month.
"Later this month I'm going to get out to Alabama, Florida and Tennessee," O'Brien told Mike Farrell of Rivals.com.Ā
Those visits will all be a part of one recruiting road trip and O'Brien will begin planning his official visits for the fall shortly after returning home.
The Wolverines may get an unofficial visit from O'Brien at the end of July for their annual Barbecue at the Big House, but this has not been confirmed or finalized by the Powers Catholic standout.
In other Michigan recruiting news, the No. 3 fullback on Rivals.com,Ā E.J. FatuĀ (Klein, TX), told Michael Spath ofĀ TheWolverine.comĀ that the Wolverines were one of the teams that have stood out so far in his recruitment.Ā
"Michigan and LSU are two schools I want to take official visits to," the 3-star prospect said. "I want to take all five visits and then I'll break it down after that. Both of those schools really interest me, though. I just always hear a lot of great things about Michigan from my friends, coaches, even my own coaches. I just like the sound of their program."
Fatu will likely not have time for an unofficial visit, but is excited about seeing the campus on an official trip later this year.
"I really want to see Michigan and meet the coaches and players," the Klein Oak High School standout sad.
The Wolverines are in need of a fullback in their 2012 class and Fatu is the highest rated player still available at his position. Fatu's offers have just begun to roll in, so it is likely his recruitment will not end until around National Signing Day in February.
Fatu's six offers are from Michigan, Arizona State, Arkansas, Nevada, Syracuse and Utah.
