While winning is the ultimate goal in any sport, including college football, young athletes are becoming more and more conscious of not only winning but looking good doing it.

When you look at the college football landscape, you can take a glimpse into a program's history by looking at their uniforms.

In this article, we take a quick look at around the nation and place each program into three different categories.

First category is a timeless look. Whether the school has a strong history with a look that has gone unchanged or it is a program that has put together merchandising gold, these uniforms should not be changed.

Some programs are due for a change. Regardless of whether the uniform is hard on the eyes or the team's play is hard on the eyes, these schools need to start looking for a new look.

Lastly are the schools that go largely unnoticed. If you could describe a uniform as "eh," you know that you would not run into a problem whether you changed things up or left them alone.

What category does your school fall into?

Air Force

LAS VEGAS - NOVEMBER 18: Quarterback Tim Jefferson Jr. #7 of the Air Force Falcons gets instructions from his sideline during a game against the UNLV Rebels at Sam Boyd Stadium November 18, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Air Force won 35-20. (Photo by Ethan
Ethan Miller/Getty Images

Due for a Change

Despite having some updates, the Air Force jersey is ready to be overhauled. These players defend our country and deserve the best. Adding more of a patriotic feel to it might work.

Akron

LEXINGTON, KY - SEPTEMBER 18: Patrick Nicely #7 of the Akron Zips runs with the ball during the game against the Kentucky Wildcats at Commonwealth Stadium on September 18, 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)
Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Eh

The navy, gold and white looks nice, but Akron would not ruffle any feathers if they decided to change their jersey or leave it alone.

Alabama

ORLANDO, FL - JANUARY 01: Greg McElroy #12 of the Alabama Crimson Tide warms up during the Capitol One Bowl against the Michigan State Spartans at the Florida Citrus Bowl on January 1, 2011 in Orlando, Florida. (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)

Timeless

If there was ever an attempt to change this jersey, you would have a revolt in the south and all over the college football world. The numbers on the helmet and the crimson red are timeless.

Arizona

TUCSON, AZ - DECEMBER 02: Quarterback Nick Foles #8 of the Arizona Wildcats throws a pass against the Arizona State Sun Devils during the college football game at Arizona Stadium on December 2, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. The Sun Devils defeated the Wildcat
Christian Petersen/Getty Images

Eh

Going into the 2010 season, Arizona got a bit of an update, but for the most part, it likely went unnoticed. For the most part, the Wildcats could continue to tinker with their uniform and not many people would object.

Arizona State

Asu-new-uniforms-300x199_display_image

Due for a Change

Arizona State has yet to wear these jerseys, and it is already time for a change. The pitchfork on the helmet and new jersey missed the mark in a big way.

Even if the change was to go back to last year's jersey, make a change.

Arkansas

NEW ORLEANS, LA - JANUARY 04: Jarius Wright #4 of the Arkansas Razorbacks runs after a catch against the Ohio State Buckeyes during the Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Louisiana Superdome on January 4, 2011 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Matthew Stockm
Matthew Stockman/Getty Images

Eh

The Razorbacks continue to not necessarily mess with the jersey, but more with the combinations they wear.

While it is not a jersey that is considered timeless, there would not be much objection if they continued to tinker with things.

Arkansas State

250px-arkansas_state_football_player_display_image

Eh

Right now, Arkansas State has good luck with their uniforms, but the problem is, not many people know that. If they were to update their jerseys, it would go unnoticed.

Army

PHILADELPHIA - DECEMBER 11: Quarterback Trent Steelman #8 of the Army Black Knights runs with the ball during the game against the Navy Midshipmen on December 11, 2010 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Midshipmen won 31-17. (Ph
Hunter Martin/Getty Images

Due for a Change

Much like Air Force, I believe that the Army uniform could be better; we owe it to those men. When they have broken out the camouflage uniforms, it is a good look, and one they should consider going to full time.

Auburn

GLENDALE, AZ - JANUARY 10: Demetruce McNeal #12 of the Auburn Tigers gestures against the Auburn Tigers the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game against the Oregon Ducks at University of Phoenix Stadium on January 10, 2011 in Glendale, Arizona. (Phot
Christian Petersen/Getty Images

Timeless

Much like their rival, Auburn has a uniform that will stand the test of time. Sometimes it is ok to mess with the combination of pants and jerseys, but there will not be a change to the overall uniform anytime soon.

Ball State

Ball-state-players_display_image

Due for a Change

With six wins over the past two seasons, the Ball State program is in need of a change. If they were to update their jerseys, they need to make a change that would separate them from other teams that use the name Cardinal.

Baylor

WACO, TX - NOVEMBER 14: Quarterback Nick Florence #11 of the Baylor Bears drops back to pass during the first half against the Texas Longhorns on November 14, 2009 at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas. The Longhorns beat the Bears 47-14. (Photo by Tom
Tom Pennington/Getty Images

Due for a Change

While the program does not make a lot of noise, they have found some success over the past couple seasons, and now may be a great time to expand that exposure with a new uniform.

Boise State

LAS VEGAS, NV - DECEMBER 22: Quarterback Kellen Moore #11 of the Boise State Broncos warms up before playing against the Utah Utes in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium December 22, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Boise State Won 26-3. (Photo by Et
Ethan Miller/Getty Images

Eh

Boise State has received recent changes to their jerseys, and for the most part, it went unnoticed. For the most part, not many would notice another change, unless they switched the color of their field.

Boston College

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - JANUARY 09: Chase Rettig #7 of Boston College in action against the Nevada Wolf Pack in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl at AT&T Park on January 9, 2011 in San Francisco, California. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)
Ezra Shaw/Getty Images

Timeless

While the jersey style has been updated, the colors and overall look is something that should not be messed with. People will always remember Doug Flutie running around the field after his hail mary pass, and that memory would lose something if Boston College was to change their uniforms.

Bowling Green

ANN ARBOR, MI - SEPTEMBER 25: Aaron Pankratz #14 of Bowling Green drops back to pass in the first quarter during the game against the Michigan Wolverines on September 25, 2010 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Michigan defeated Bowling Green 65
Leon Halip/Getty Images

Eh

Even if you are a hardcore Bowling Green fan, you may be indifferent on an uniform change. For the most part, if Bowling Green was to do anything, it would go unnoticed nationally.

Buffalo

DETROIT - DECEMBER 5: Quarterback Drew Willy #16 of the Buffalo Bulls looks to pass against the Ball State Cardinals during the MAC Championship game on December 5, 2008 at Ford Field in Detroit Michigan. (Photo by: Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)
Gregory Shamus/Getty Images

Due for a Change

The program is failing to find success on the field, so it is time to find it off the field. In order to turn around the losing culture there, Buffalo may want to try by first changing their uniforms.

BYU

FORT WORTH, TX - OCTOBER 16: Quarterback Jake Heaps #9 of the Brigham Young University Cougars throws a pass against the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs at Amon G. Carter Stadium on October 16, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas. (Photo by Tom Pennington
Tom Pennington/Getty Images

Timeless

BYU has an overall look that goes back quite a while. If the program looked to update or change what they have, the fanbase would be outraged and likely not support any change that was made.

Cal

PASADENA, CA - OCTOBER 17: Quarterback Kevin Riley #13 of the California Golden Bears rolls out with the ball against the UCLA Bruins on October 17, 2009 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Cal won 45-26. (Photo by Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)
Stephen Dunn/Getty Images

Eh

Cal has made some changes with their uniforms over the past few years, and they have gone largely unnoticed. I would bet that another change would have the same result.

Central Michigan

BLOOMINGTON, IN - NOVEMBER 01: kito Poblah #1 of the Central Michigan Chippewas runs with the ball during the game against the Indiana Hooisers at Memorial Stadium on November 1, 2008 in Bloomington, Indiana. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)
Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Eh

Being in the same state as Michigan and Michigan State does not leave much room for the Chips to be noticed. While Michigan has a deep history when it comes to its uniforms and change would not be an option, there would not be much resistance or interest in a change made by Central Michigan.

Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, OH - DECEMBER 04: Greg Williams #38 of the Pittsburgh Panthers reaches for Zach Collaros #12 of the Cincinnati Bearcats during the Big East Conference game against at Nippert Stadium on December 4, 2010 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Pittsburgh won 28
Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Eh

Like other programs, Cincinnati has not made huge change to their uniforms but rather have played with different combinations. The Bearcats have a solid look, but change could come or go.

Clemson

Clemson-purple_display_image

Timeless

This look that Clemson broke out is something that I believe will end up being timeless. While they have made some changes to the overall look, this is a combination that Clemson should use more.

Colorado

LINCOLN, NE - NOVEMBER 26: Cody Hawkins #7 hands the ball to teammate Rodney Stewart #5 of the Colorado Buffaloes during their game against the Colorado Buffaloes at Memorial Stadium on November 26, 2010 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska defeated Colorado 45
Eric Francis/Getty Images

Due for a Change

For some fans, this idea might be outrageous. The thought behind this is Colorado is entering a new conference, has not been able to find much success and there may be no better time for change than now.

Colorado State

DENVER - SEPTEMBER 04: Linebacker Ricky Brewer #56 of the Colorado State Rams is prepared to face the Colorado Buffaloes during the Rocky Mountain Showdown at INVESCO Field at Mile High on September 4, 2010 in Denver, Colorado. Colorado was awarded the C
Doug Pensinger/Getty Images

Due for a Change

It doesn't take long for you to see something that must change from the Colorado State uniform. Start with the helmet and work your way down; it's time for a complete change.

Connecticut

GLENDALE, AZ - JANUARY 01: Zach Frazer #10 of the Connecticut Huskies throws the ball against the Oklahoma Sooners during the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at the Universtity of Phoenix Stadium on January 1, 2011 in Glendale, Arizona. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/
Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

Eh

A school with a rich basketball history is trying to build the same kind of history for its football program. With a navy and white uniform, Connecticut has a common look.

As long as they didn't mess with the basketball uniform, people wouldn't mind either way.

Duke

DURHAM, NC - SEPTEMBER 25: Sean Renfree #19 of the Duke Blue Devils drops back to throw a pass against the Army Black Knights during their game at Wallace Wade Stadium on September 25, 2010 in Durham, North Carolina. (Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Image
Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Due for a Change

Don't mess with the basketball program at Duke, but things have gotten so bad for the football program that something has to change.

If the program wants to try and change the culture, one way might be to start with the uniforms.

Eastern Michigan

COLUMBUS, OH - SEPTEMBER 25: Quarterback Alex Gillett #8 of the Eastern Michigan Eagles passes against the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium on September 25, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio State won 73-20. (Photo by Jamie Sabau/Getty Images)
Jamie Sabau/Getty Images

Eh

The problem that Eastern Michigan runs into is the uniform is very plain. Green and white with a block E on the helmet is not something that is catching people's attention.

ECU

BLACKSBURG, VA - SEPTEMBER 18: Quarterback Dominique Davis #4 of the East Carolina Pirates runs with the ball against the Virginia Tech Hokies at Lane Stadium on September 18, 2010 in Blacksburg, Virginia. (Photo by Geoff Burke/Getty Images)
Geoff Burke/Getty Images

Due for a Change

When your name is the Pirates, you need to get rid of the purple out of your uniform. The look needs an overhaul to match the nickname.

FIU

Fiu-football-stabbed-to-death-thumb-400xauto-8143_display_image

Eh

Another uniform that just blends in with the college football landscape are the ones worn by FIU. Again, a team going with navy and gold results in a neutral attitude towards it.

Florida

Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images

Timeless

Much like their in-state rival Florida State, Florida has one of the best uniforms and logos in the nation. Much like other teams in the SEC, change for this program is not on the table.

Florida Atlantic

73295_display_image

Due for a Change

With the red, white and blue colors, this may be something that would look good for one of the service academies. For Florida Atlantic, it is time to move on and create a new look.

Florida State

ATLANTA, GA - DECEMBER 31: EJ Manuel #3 of the Florida State Seminoles against the South Carolina Gamecocks during the 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl at Georgia Dome on December 31, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)
Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

Timeless

From the spear on their helmet to the colors that Florida State wears, this is one of the best looks in all of college football. Changing them would be a crime.

Fresno State

BOISE, ID - NOVEMBER 19: Ryan Colburn #15 of the Fresno State Bulldogs looks for the handoff against the Boise State Broncos at Bronco Stadium on November 19, 2010 in Boise, Idaho. (Photo by Otto Kitsinger III/Getty Images)
Otto Kitsinger III/Getty Images

Eh

The Bulldogs are another team with a good look right now. The problem for Fresno State is the lack of national attention. A change to the uniform would likely generate a neutral result.

Georgia

ATHENS, GA - NOVEMBER 27: Brandon Boykin #2 of the Georgia Bulldogs stiff arms Jerrard Tarrant #37 of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on a return at Sanford Stadium on November 27, 2010 in Athens, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)
Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

Timeless

If you are looking for some of the best uniforms in the nation, the SEC is a great place to start. Georgia's uniforms and helmets are part of that group and are not going to see a change any time soon.

Georgia Tech

ATHENS, GA - NOVEMBER 27: Anthony Allen #18 of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets reacts after scoring a touchdown against the Georgia Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium on November 27, 2010 in Athens, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)
Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

Eh

Georgia Tech has a solid looking uniform that works well for them. The problem with this is that it's not a classic jersey that is above change nor is it in desperate need of an update.

Hawaii

HONOLULU - SEPTEMBER 02: Mana Lolotai #50 of the University of Hawaii Warriors checks his helmet before the Warriors take the field in their season opener against the University of Southern California Trojans at Aloha Stadium September 2, 2010 in Honolulu
Kent Nishimura/Getty Images

Eh

The Hawaii uniforms are average, and that is actually a step forward for this program. Fans are just thankful that they have gotten rid of the rainbow warrior uniforms.

Houston

PASADENA, CA - SEPTEMBER 18: Quarterback Case Keenum #7 of the Houston Cougars is tied up by linebacker Sean Westgate #11 of the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl on September 18, 2010 in Pasadena, California. (Photo by Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)
Stephen Dunn/Getty Images

Due for a Change

With a nickname of the Cougars, the Houston uniforms leave something to be desired. 2011 should be a good year for the program on the field, and new jerseys would make it even better.

Idaho

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA - SEPTEMBER 11: Idaho Vandals quarterback Nathan Enderle #10 tries to elude over Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive tackle Baker Steinkuhler #55 during first half action of their game at Memorial Stadium on September 4, 2010 in Lincoln, Nebr
Eric Francis/Getty Images

Due for a Change

In the state of Idaho, the only football program that gets noticed is Boise State. In order for Idaho to make strides to get out of their shadow, they must do something that stands out and gets them noticed.

Illinois

Illinois-football_1__display_image

Due for a Change

While Illinois' uniforms have remained basically the same, it is time for a change. The program is treading water in the middle of the Big 10, and with the addition of Nebraska, they will move down a notch in the pecking order.

Indiana

Indianalynchfootballhoosiers_display_image

Eh

Despite having a basketball program with a storied history, the football program does not share in that success.

Over the past few years, the Hoosiers have become more competitive but they do have a jersey that could or couldn't change without much resistance.

Iowa

TEMPE, AZ - DECEMBER 28: (L-R) Ricky Stanzi #12, Marvin McNutt #7 and Adrian Clayborn #94 of the Iowa Hawkeyes walk out onto the field for the Insight Bowl against the Missouri Tigers at Sun Devil Stadium on December 28, 2010 in Tempe, Arizona. The Hawke
Christian Petersen/Getty Images

Timeless

The Iowa uniform is modeled after one of the better NFL uniforms, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The black and gold uniforms are a great look and remain as one of the best looks not only in the Big 10 but in the nation.

Iowa State

BOULDER, CO - NOVEMBER 13: Alexander Robinson #33 of the Iowa State Cyclones celebrates his eight yard touchdown run in the second quarter with his teammates against the Colorado Buffaloes at Folsom Field on November 13, 2010 in Boulder, Colorado. Colora
Doug Pensinger/Getty Images

Due for a Change

The Iowa uniforms and Iowa State uniforms are complete opposites. While the Hawkeyes have a great look, the Cyclones are in need of an update to not only their uniforms but also their colors.

Kansas

LAWRENCE, KS - NOVEMBER 20: Quarterback Quinn Mecham #8 of the Kansas Jayhawks passes during the game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on November 20, 2010 at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas. (Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty Images)
Jamie Squire/Getty Images

Eh

Much like Connecticut and Duke, the focus at Kansas is on the basketball program not the football program. Kansas has a good look, but a change would only cause concern if it was for the basketball team.

Kansas State

NEW YORK, NY - DECEMBER 30: Carson Coffman #14 of the Kansas State Wildcats gets out of the tackle of Doug Hogue #32 of the Syracuse Orange during the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on December 30, 2010 in New York, New York. (Photo by Chris M
Chris McGrath/Getty Images

Timeless

While the Wildcats is a popular and commonly used nickname for a program, Kansas State has done a good job developing their uniform. While it may not be in the same category as Alabama or Penn State, Kansas State has a great uniform.

Kent State

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - SEPTEMBER 11: Anthony Bowman Jr #25 of the Kent State Golden Flashes is tackled by Ryan Quigley #46 of the Boston College Eagles on September 11, 2010 at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Boston College defeated Kent Sta
Elsa/Getty Images

Due for a Change

For a program that has a great looking logo, the rest of the uniform does not live up to it. If Kent State was to improve on the jersey, they would have a great looking uniform.

Kentucky

LEXINGTON, KY - NOVEMBER 13: Chris Matthews #8 of the Kentucky Wildcats runs for a touchdown after a reception during the game against the Vanderbilt Commodores at Commonwealth Stadium on November 13, 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Ge
Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Timeless

Unlike other football programs that are upstaged by their basketball counterparts, Kentucky has great looking uniforms that should not be changed, and if there was attempt to do so, people would object.

Hopefully over the years, Kentucky football can gain some success to match the quality of their uniforms.

Louisiana Tech

3072346873_deb570a565_o_display_image

Eh

Much like Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe, the fanbase is small at Louisiana Tech. While they have decent looking uniforms, not many people follow the team enough to care about changes that may or may not occur.

Louisiana-Lafayette

2916766623_145e872aba_display_image

Eh

To be completely honest, if I told you that Louisiana-Lafayette got new jerseys last year, you would believe me. Unless you are a graduate of the school, the fanbase is small and the level of interest is low.

Louisiana-Monroe

32317_louisiana_monroe_texas_football_display_image

Eh

The good news for Louisiana-Monroe, their uniforms look pretty good. The bad news for Louisiana-Monroe is the only time they are noticed is when they go up against a top 25 team.

Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY - OCTOBER 15: Adam Froman #9 of the Louisville Cardinals throws a pass during the Big East Conference game against the Cincinnati Bearcats at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on October 15, 2010 in Louisville, Kentucky. (Photo by Andy Lyons/
Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Due for a Change

Red and white is a uniform combination that works well for Louisville. The only change that this program needs to make is to not follow the trend of black uniforms like they have done. Toss those jerseys and stick to what works.

LSU

ARLINGTON, TX - JANUARY 07: Stevan Ridley #34 of the Louisiana State University Tigers runs in for a touchdown during the game against the Texas A&M Aggies during the AT&T Cotton Bowl at Cowboys Stadium on January 7, 2011 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by
Chris Graythen/Getty Images

Timeless

LSU is another program that does not have to worry about updating their uniforms. The Tigers have been wearing the purple and gold since 1893, and there is no reason to change now or ever.

Marshall

COLUMBUS, OH - SEPTEMBER 2: Quarterback Brian Anderson #12 of the Marshall Thundering Herd passes against the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium on September 2, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio. (Photo by Jamie Sabau/Getty Images)
Jamie Sabau/Getty Images

Timeless

Marshall might be one of the only smaller schools I believe have a timeless look. The Thundering Herd also received some off the field exposure when the movie "We Are Marshall" was released.

Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, MD - NOVEMBER 13: Josh Allen #33 of the Maryland Terrapins reaches over the goal line for a one yard touchdown run against the Virginia Cavaliers to give the Terps a 14-0 lead during second quarter of NCAA football action on November 13, 20
Doug Pensinger/Getty Images

Due for a Change

The Maryland football program is starting a new chapter in its history by hiring former Connecticut coach Randy Edsall. Another way Maryland could look to turn the page is by not only starting with a new coach but a new uniform.

Memphis

Zzzztigers_t300_display_image

Eh

Not necessarily known for their football program, Memphis has a decent looking uniform and color scheme. The problem for the Tigers is they are rarely in the national eye, and people will simply gloss over any change they make.

Miami

MIAMI - NOVEMBER 20: Travis Benjamin #3 of the Miami Hurricanes misses a fingertip catch during a game against the Virginia Tech Hokies at Sun Life Stadium on November 20, 2010 in Miami, Florida. (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)
Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images

Time for a Change

While the uniforms Miami wears now are not bad, it is time for a change. Relax, Miami fans; I am not looking for a completely new look, but rather for them to return to their older style uniforms.

Miam University

F733e_46760_colorado_st_miami_ohio_football_display_image

Eh

While the red and white colors are strong and help Miami of Ohio stand out on TV, once the viewer realizes it is Miami of Ohio, they likely will change the channel.

With a small fanbase in Ohio that has to compete with Buckeye fans, not many pay much attention to them.

Michigan

ANN ARBOR, MI - APRIL 16: Denard Robinson #16 of the Michigan Wolverines drops back to pass during the annual Spring Game at Michigan Stadium on April 16, 2011 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. (Photo by Leon Halip/Getty Images)
Leon Halip/Getty Images

Timeless

The maize and blue and the winged helmets are iconic symbols for a program rich in tradition. Making a change to these uniforms is something that will not happen.

Michigan State

ORLANDO, FL - JANUARY 01: Chris Rucker #16 of the Michigan State Spartans warms up during the Capitol One Bowl against the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Florida Citrus Bowl on January 1, 2011 in Orlando, Florida. (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)
Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images

Timeless

The Wolverines are not the only Michigan team with a great uniform. The Michigan State Spartans are home to a great uniform and an even better mascot.

While the overall look of the uniform has been updated, the colors and the Spartan are still there.

Middle Tennessee

Dwight-dasher_display_image

Eh

With limited success comes limited notoriety. Without much of a following, Middle Tennessee would not receive much support or opposition if they decided to make a uniform change.

Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS - SEPTEMBER 18: Da'Jon McKnight #6 of the Minnesota Golden Gophers celebrates after catching a pass for a touchdown during the game against the USC Trojans on September 18, 2010 at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. (Photo by Jamie
Jamie Squire/Getty Images

Due for a Change

Maybe a perfect opportunity for a change has already passed them by. With the opening of a new stadium, the window would have been open for a uniform overhaul.

Mississippi State

LEXINGTON, KY - OCTOBER 31: Anthony Dixon #24 of the Mississippi State Bulldogs runs with the ball during the SEC game against the Kentucky Wildcats at Commonwealth Stadium on October 31, 2009 in Lexington, Kentucky. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)
Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Timeless

No other team makes the maroon and white looks better then Mississippi State. Much like other teams in the SEC rich with history, the Bulldogs have a timeless jersey that will remain unchanged.

Missouri

TEMPE, AZ - DECEMBER 28: Quarterback Blaine Gabbert #11 of the Missouri Tigers drops back to pass during the Insight Bowl against the Iowa Hawkeyes at Sun Devil Stadium on December 28, 2010 in Tempe, Arizona. The Hawkeyes defeated the Tigers 27-24. (P
Christian Petersen/Getty Images

Timeless

While Missouri may not have the success that other programs with timeless uniforms have, the Tigers have a great uniform that deserves recognition. The black and gold is always a good choice, and it works for Missouri.

Navy

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - OCTOBER 23: Ricky Dobbs #4 of the Navy Midshipmen rushes with the ball against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at New Meadowlands Stadium on October 23, 2010 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. (Photo by Nick Laham/Getty Images)
Nick Laham/Getty Images

Due for a Change

As I have stated for both Air Force and Army, I would love to see Navy fall into line and add more of a patriotic feel to their uniforms.

NC State

RALEIGH, NC - OCTOBER 28: Russell Wilson #16 of the North Carolina State Wolfpack throws the game winning touchdown against the Florida State Seminoles during their game at Carter-Finley Stadium on October 28, 2010 in Raleigh, North Carolina. (Photo by
Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Due for a Change

With a name like the Wolfpack, the last thing that you expect is to see the football team come running out in red and white uniforms. With a solid nickname, the possibilities are endless for NC State.

Nebraska

ARLINGTON, TX - DECEMBER 04: Wide receiver Mike McNeil #44 of the Nebraska Cornhuskers pulls in a pass against the Oklahoma Sooners at Cowboys Stadium on December 4, 2010 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images)
Tom Pennington/Getty Images

Timeless

Nebraska will now be joining a conference that is deep in tradition and has the uniforms to match. Going mostly unchanged, Nebraska has a timeless look that nobody would mess with.

Nevada

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - JANUARY 09: Colin Kaepernick #10 of the Nevada Wolf Pack looks to pass the ball against Boston College during the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl at AT&T Park on January 9, 2011 in San Francisco, California. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)
Ezra Shaw/Getty Images

Due for a Change

The Nevada Wolfpack have been a solid program and are coming off of a terrific year in 2010. When looking at the Nevada uniform, nothing stands out.

As they continue to grow as a program, it may be time to make a splash with a uniform change.

New Mexico

610x_display_image

Eh

From the helmet to the uniform, New Mexico's overall uniform is okay. As other small schools have found out, most people would not notice a change to their uniform or object to it.

New Mexico State

Guweejodkiwwjtz

Eh

Out in the WAC, New Mexico State has an average uniform that doesn't attract attention for any reason. If most people closed their eyes and were asked to describe these uniforms, they would not be able to, and that may very well be the definition of an "eh" uniform.

North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, NC - NOVEMBER 13: Donte Paige-Moss #98 of the North Carolina Tar Heels against the Virginia Tech Hokies during their game at Kenan Stadium on November 13, 2010 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. (Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)
Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Timeless

The Carolina blue and white is a classic look that is recognized across the nation. Unlike their rivals Duke, North Carolina has had enough success to not look to make a change to their uniform.

If Butch Davis can continue to develop the program and bring in more top end recruits, this uniform will be even more well known.

North Texas

20071110-381-coach_dodge_800_display_image

Due for a Change

North Texas could use a change from head to toe. Not only could the uniform and logo use an update, but it is time to get rid of the Mean Green nickname and move to something else.

Northern Illinois

5400867_display_image

Eh

Northern Illinois has a solid look to go along with a decent logo. At the end of the day, if the Huskies were to announce a uniform change tomorrow, it would not make a ripple in the college football world.

Northwestern

Due for a Change

I am not looking for Northwestern to go through a radical change. All I am looking for is for Northwestern to retire the black jerseys they wore last year and stick to what they know, the purple and white.

Notre Dame

Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images

Timeless

Maybe one of the most recognized uniforms and logos belongs to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Under no circumstances will this be changed for as long as this school is playing football.

Ohio

Ohio-bobcats1_display_image

Eh

Timeless? No. Time for a change? No. The Ohio Bobcats have an average looking uniform that doesn't get much attention. You are not going to find people feeling strongly on either side of the fence.

Ohio State

NEW ORLEANS, LA - JANUARY 04: Dan Herron #1 of the Ohio State Buckeyes runs the ball against the Arkansas Razorbacks during the Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Louisiana Superdome on January 4, 2011 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Matthew Stockman/Getty

Timeless

The scarlet and gray are colors that are synonymous with Ohio State. From their helmet to their jerseys, the Buckeyes will never see a change to their uniforms.

Oklahoma

GLENDALE, AZ - JANUARY 01: Travis Lewis #28 of the Oklahoma Sooners reacts at the end of the game against the Connecticut Huskies during the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at the Universtity of Phoenix Stadium on January 1, 2011 in Glendale, Arizona. (Photo by Ro
Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

Timeless

The Oklahoma Sooners need no introduction when talking about the school's history, and their uniforms are a part of that storied program. Much like their rivals Texas, Oklahoma knows they have something special and understand they don't need to change a thing.

Oklahoma State

Nebraska_oklahoma_st_football

Timeless

Few teams have the ability to make orange look good, but Oklahoma State is one of those schools. While their uniform is not as classic as the Sooners, the Cowboys have a uniform that should go unchanged.

Ole Miss

Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

Timeless

Like many of the other schools in the SEC, Ole Miss has one of the better uniforms in the nation. One thing that the Rebels have to do is promise not to wear the all gray uniforms like they did last year.

Oregon

Due for a Change

People who hate the constant change that Oregon goes through should divert their eyes. Lately, Oregon has been going in a cycle of new jerseys every three years; this is year three on their current uniforms.

Despite the criticism that Oregon has received, they have actually used their uniforms as an effective recruiting tool.

Oregon State

Oregon-state-jacquizz-rodgers_display_image

Due for a Change

While the jersey and pants received a small update over the past couple years, the Beavers are in need for a change. Over the past three years, the Beavers have been losing ground to the Ducks on and off the field, and they need to do something to shake things up.

Penn State

Timeless

Often viewed as one of the best uniforms in college football are the ones worn by Penn State. They have a look that has stood the test of time and will continue to do so.

Pittsburgh

CINCINNATI, OH - DECEMBER 04: Tino Sunseri #12 of the Pittsburgh Panthers throws the ball during the Big East Conference game against the Cincinnati Bearcats at Nippert Stadium on December 4, 2010 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Pittsburgh won 28-10. (Photo by An
Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Eh

The heart of Pittsburgh football fans belongs to the Steelers, who have one of the best uniforms in sports. For the Panthers, they have an ordinary blue and gold combination that could stay or go without much reaction.

Purdue

Timeless

Purdue is another team out of the Big 10 with a great uniform that should go unchanged. While it is not on the same level as Ohio State or Michigan, Purdue represents the Big 10 well.

Rice

9d6a_t607_display_image

Eh

Nothing to hate, nothing to love about the Rice uniforms. If the Owls announced they were changing their uniforms, it would be news that would go unnoticed.

Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, NJ - OCTOBER 08: Chas Dodd #19 of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights throws a pass against the Connecticut Huskies at Rutgers Stadium on October 8, 2010 in Piscataway, New Jersey. (Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)
Jim McIsaac/Getty Images

Due for a Change

The change for Rutgers is simple. In 2007, Rutgers went with the all black look that has gone through the entire nation. Rutgers just needs to bring those back, because with a name like the Scarlet Knights, black and red would be a great combination.

San Diego State

SAN DIEGO - NOVEMBER 20: Quarterback Ryan Lindley #14 of the San Diego State Aztecs throws a pass against the Utah Utes at Qualcomm Stadium on November 20, 2010 in San Diego, California. Utah won 38-34. (Photo by Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)
Stephen Dunn/Getty Images

Eh

Out in California, teams like UCLA, USC and Stanford are all fighting for attention on and off the field. Unfortunately for San Diego State, that doesn't leave a lot of time or attention for them.

San Jose State

PALO ALTO, CA - SEPTEMBER 19: Jordan La Secia #12 of the San Jose State Spartans in action during their game against the Stanford Cardinal at Stanford Stadium on September 19, 2009 in Palo Alto, California. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)
Ezra Shaw/Getty Images

Due for a Change

The nickname of Spartans is solid, the executive through the uniform, not so much. The problem for San Jose is not only are they a smaller school, but when you hear the name Spartans, people think about Michigan State, and that isn't changing any time soon.

SMU

DALLAS - SEPTEMBER 24: Quarterback Kyle Padron #2 of the SMU Mustangs looks to pass against the TCU Horned Frogs at Gerald J. Ford Stadium on September 24, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)
Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

Due for a Change

After being set back years by penalties for NCAA violations, SMU seems to be turning a corner. What the program needs is a fresh new look to leave the past behind them.

South Carolina

ATLANTA, GA - DECEMBER 31: Alshon Jeffery #1 of the South Carolina Gamecocks against the Florida State Seminoles during the 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl at Georgia Dome on December 31, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)
Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

Timeless

The SEC continues to represent on this list well. The history and classic looks did not skip over South Carolina. The Gamecocks have an outstanding uniform and will not be seeing an update any time soon.

South Florida

CHARLOTTE, NC - DECEMBER 31: Terrence Mitchell #14 of the USF Bulls runs with the ball against the Clemson Tigers during their game at Bank of America Stadium on December 31, 2010 in Charlotte, North Carolina. (Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)
Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Due for a Change

Being a new program both helps and hurts South Florida. It hurts because they have not built up the brand recognition, which includes their uniforms. It helps because their is also no attachment to their current look, which would make a change easy.

Southern Miss

Southern-miss-gametime_display_image

Eh

Despite having a good look with the black and yellow, Southern Miss fails to meet the standards for a timeless jersey. There is no reason to change the uniform, but not many would raise an issue if they did.

Stanford

MIAMI, FL - JANUARY 03: Quarterback Andrew Luck #12 of the Stanford Cardinal calls a play in the huddle as Derek Hall #53, David DeCastro #52, Andrew Phillips #71 and Jonathan Martin #55 listen to the call against the Virginai Tech Hokies during the 2011
Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Timeless

One of the best uniforms in the now Pac-12 belongs to the Stanford Cardinal. The cardinal red and white is a classic look, and quarterback Andrew Luck will make it look even better on the field in 2011.

Syracuse

SEATTLE - SEPTEMBER 11: Quarterback Ryan Nassib #12 of the Syracuse Orange looks to pass against the Washington Huskies on September 11, 2010 at Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington. (Photo by Otto Greule Jr/Getty Images)

Timeless

While the success has not been there as of late, the Syracuse Orange has a classic and timeless look. The history behind their uniforms is strong, and you will not see any major changes made.

TCU

Due for a Change

Most TCU fans will not want to hear this, but this is another case of hearing about a team called the Horned Frogs and then seeing something completely different. The purple, black and white is something that just doesn't work and should see a change.

Temple

Ncf_u_dimichele_275_display_image

Eh

Overall, there is nothing that catches your eye about the Temple Owls uniform, and there is little that truly drives them to keep it the same or make a change.

Tennessee

COLUMBIA, SC - OCTOBER 30: Matt Simms #2 of the Tennessee Volunteers against the South Carolina Gamecocks during their game at Williams-Brice Stadium on October 30, 2010 in Columbia, South Carolina. (Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images)
Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Timeless

Nothing to see here; time to move along. You are looking at a college football classic, and even the thought of changing this uniform would get you hurt in Tennessee.

Texas

Timeless

The burnt orange and white are colors that people in Texas are born into. Texas has a uniform that is above the idea of changing. Longhorn players will wear these colors for years to come.

Texas A&M

ARLINGTON, TX - JANUARY 07: Quarterback Ryan Tannehill #17 of the Texas A&M Aggies throws against the LSU Tigers during the AT&T Cotton Bowl at Cowboys Stadium on January 7, 2011 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)
Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

Timeless

Out of the Big 12, Texas A&M uniforms are made up of maroon and white and are a solid look for the Aggies. While they are not on the same level as the Longhorns, changes are not coming for this program.

Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, TX - SEPTEMBER 18: Quarterback Taylor Potts #12 of the Texas Tech Red Raiders against the Texas Longhorns at Jones AT&T Stadium on September 18, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)
Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

Timeless

Since 1934, Texas Tech has worn the black and scarlet, and it is a great looking uniform. While they have had some small changes made to it by going to Under Armour, the Red Raiders are another Texas school with a great look.

Toledo

CLEVELAND - SEPTEMBER 19: Aaron Opelt #11 of the Toledeo Rockets gets ready to throw a fourth quarter pass while playing the Ohio State Buckeyes on September 19, 2009 at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. Ohio State won the game 38-0. (Photo by
Gregory Shamus/Getty Images

Eh

Midnight blue and gold make up the uniforms for the Toledo Rockets. The problem for Toledo is it is another small school in Ohio that is living in Ohio State's shadow. Any change made wouldn't make it out of the city.

Troy

300px-troy_football_player_display_image

Time for a Change

Troy falls into the same trap that San Jose State did. With a nickname like the Spartans, nobody thinks of San Jose State. For Troy, with the nickname of the Trojans, everyone thinks of USC. Even if you look past the name, the uniform is still in need of a change.

Tulane

Andre-anderson-2_display_image

Eh

The Tulane Greenwave have a good looking uniform, but it is far away from being timeless. With a limited fanbase comes limited concern over any impending change.

Tulsa

Eh

Tulsa's current uniforms look good as they are; the problem is, if they were to make any changes to them, not many people outside of the program would notice.

UAB

Streeter Lecka/Getty Images

Eh

Much like South Florida, UAB is a relatively new program and has not built up a huge following. If the Blazers were to switch things up with their uniforms, many would not even notice.

UCF

50228021_display_image

Eh

The UCF Knights program began in 1979 and have a good looking uniform. The downside for the Knights is they have a smaller fanbase, and the uniform is by no means untouchable.

UCLA

PASADENA, CA - DECEMBER 04: Quarterback Richard Brehaut #12 of the UCLA Bruins celebrates Johnathan Franklin's (not pictured) touchdown in the first half against the USC Trojans at the Rose Bowl on December 4, 2010 in Pasadena, California. (Photo by Jef
Jeff Gross/Getty Images

Timeless

UCLA has a truly timeless look, especially when looking at their blue and gold uniform combination. When they go up against USC, you are treated to two of the best uniforms in the country.

UNLV

LAS VEGAS - NOVEMBER 13: Head coach Bobby Hauck of the UNLV Rebels congratulates Tim Cornett #35 after he scored his fourth touchdown against the Wyoming Cowboys at Sam Boyd Stadium November 13, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. UNLV won 42-16. (Photo by Ethan
Ethan Miller/Getty Images

Time for a Change

Being a program that is out in Nevada and has the influence of Las Vegas, the Rebels uniforms don't measure up. With plenty of creativity in the state, it is time for a new look.

USC

PASADENA, CA - DECEMBER 04: Running back Allen Bradford #21 of the USC Trojans breaks a tackle by Aaron Hester #21 of the UCLA Bruins during the second half at the Rose Bowl on December 4, 2010 in Pasadena, California. USC defeated UCLA 28-14. (Photo by
Jeff Gross/Getty Images

Timeless

Much like their crosstown rival UCLA, USC has a uniform that will never be tampered with. Regardless of watching O.J. Simpson, Reggie Bush or a future Trojan, you will always see that classic look.

Utah

SOUTH BEND, IN - NOVEMBER 13: Dave Kruger #44 of the Utah Utes moves to pursue a runner against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Notre Dame Stadium on November 13, 2010 in South Bend, Indiana. Notre Dame defeated Utah 28-3. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty
Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images

Timeless

While the Utes do not have one of the top uniforms in the nation, it is a great look for the Utes, and now with them moving to the Pac-12, they will receive even more attention on a national level.

Utah State

New-utah-state-football-uniforms-2_display_image

Eh

Utah State does not have much success on the field, and after last year's jersey update went unnoticed, it is clear the school is not making waves off of the field.

UTEP

NEW ORLEANS - NOVEMBER 07: Quarterback Trevor Vittatoe #10 of the UTEP Miners looks to pass against the Tulane Green Wave at Louisana Superdome on November 7, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)
Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

Time for a Change

Out in Conference USA, the UTEP Miners have a lot of work to do on their uniforms. From the logo to the orange and blue colors, UTEP could and should make some major changes.

Vanderbilt

LEXINGTON, KY - NOVEMBER 13: Larry Smith #10 of the Vanderbilt Commodores runs with the ball during the game against the Kentucky Wildcats at Commonwealth Stadium on November 13, 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)
Andy Lyons/Getty Images

Time for a Change

As it has been mentioned, the SEC has a rich tradition that is reflected in their uniform. In Vanderbilt's case, it is time for a change to their uniform. While the program has history, it is not a college football classic and should be updated.

Virginia

Virginia-cavaliers-football-uniforms_display_image

Time for a Change

Last year, Nike provided Virginia with an updated looks for their uniform. In 2011, it is time for them to change course and go back to their original jerseys.

Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, VA - SEPTEMBER 18: Quarterback Tyrod Taylor #5 of the Virginia Tech hokies runs with the ball as linebacker Matt Thompson #28 of the East Carolina Pirates defends at Lane Stadium on September 18, 2010 in Blacksburg, Virginia. (Photo by Geof

Timeless

The Hokies are another team to fall into the timeless category. Virginia Tech brings together maroon and burnt orange and has one of the most recognizable jerseys in college football.

Wake Forest

Smith_display_image

Eh

Wake Forest has a uniform that is borderline in terms of being timeless or just eh. While I believe that they have a good look, I am not sure there would be much backlash from a change or staying the same.

Washington

EUGENE, OR - NOVEMBER 06: Quarterback Keith Price #17 of the Washington Huskies scrambles out of the pocket in the third quarter of the game against the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium on November 6, 2010 in Eugene, Oregon. The Ducks won the game 53-16. (P
Steve Dykes/Getty Images

Timeless

Despite making some updates to the overall look, the colors and appearance have gone mostly untouched. One thing that Washington needs to stay away from is the all black uniforms they wore last year.

Washington State

PASADENA, CA - OCTOBER 02: Quarterback Jeff Tuel #10 of the Washington State Cougars plays against the UCLA Bruins in the game at the Rose Bowl on October 2, 2010 in Pasadena, California. (Photo by Jeff Gross/Getty Images)
Jeff Gross/Getty Images

Time for a Change

Now that the Cougars are starting to turn the corner, it may be a perfect time to update their look and develop a stronger brand on the West Coast.

West Virginia

ORLANDO, FL - DECEMBER 28: Geno Smith #12 of the West Virginia Mountineers warms up during the Champs Sports Bowl against the North Carolina State Wolfpack at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium on December 28, 2010 in Orlando, Florida. (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/G
Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images

Time for a Change

After seeing the uniforms that West Virginia wore last year, it is time for a change. The Mountaineers need to make a change but not necessarily to something new but back to a jersey from their past.

Western Kentucky

LINCOLN, NE - SEPTEMBER 04: Willie McNeal of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and Jase Dean #31 of the Nebraska Cornhuskers run after a mishandled punt during first half action of their game at Memorial Stadium on September 4, 2010 in Lincoln, Nebraska. N

Eh

From the uniform to the jersey, Western Kentucky just blends in. It would be hard to love this jersey or hate it, making it also hard to be for or against a change.

Western Michigan

Gregory Shamus/Getty Images

Eh

Like other small programs, Western Michigan falls into the eh category, because if they were or weren't to make a change, not many would notice.

Wisconsin

PASADENA, CA - JANUARY 01: Wide receiver Nick Toon #1 of the Wisconsin Badgers lines up against the TCU Horned Frogs during the 97th Rose Bowl game on January 1, 2011 in Pasadena, California. (Photo by Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)
Stephen Dunn/Getty Images

Timeless

Another member of the Big 10 to have a timeless uniform is Wisconsin. While like most teams, Wisconsin has made minor changes and mixed and matched color combinations, the overall uniform should and has stayed the same.

Wyoming

LAS VEGAS - NOVEMBER 13: Quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels #5 of the Wyoming Cowboys looks to pass during a game against the UNLV Rebels at Sam Boyd Stadium November 13, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. UNLV won 42-16. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)
Ethan Miller/Getty Images

Time for a Change

The brown and yellow is something that just looks awful. Despite being under the radar and a change would not make much of a splash, change is needed.
